Mar Hotels Playa Mar & Spa

We had a fanstastic experience on our holiday at Mar Hotels. This was our first tip abroad with our 18 month old daughter. We booked through Jet 2 and were intially concerned with the typical worries of taking an 18 month old on a flight and coach transfer. The transfer from the airport was only 50 minutes so not too long. The hotel facilities has everything you could possibly need to keep an 18 month old entertained. The pool area is seprerated perfectly with a larger and smaller pool, a brilliant toddler area with age appropriate slides and slides for the older children. The outdoor park area was too hot as expected during the day but once cooler in the evening was ideal to keep her entertained before the evening entertainment. The staff at the hotel, specifically the resturant and entertainment staff were outstanding. They went above and beyond to interact with our daughter and make her feel very special. The rooms are well spaced out in apartment blocks not feeling too daunting. A large bedroom with two twin beds with plenty of space for a cot along with the living area featuring a sofa and another double bed. The organisation of the complex was fantastic with having a balcony facing the pool, this meant that once our child had gone to sleep we could happily sit in peace on the balcony outside the bedroom and still be able to view and enjoy the entertainment. The type and calibre of people within the hotel enjoying their holiday was perfect, majority British with some French and all very friendly and nice families, a large number of families like us had children under 5 years old and were very understanding of the realities of being on a family holiday with young children, the children and families interacted and made friends on their holiday which was pleasing to see. Finally the food was outstanding. I would go as far as saying the best all inclusive buffet for breakfast, lunch and tea we have experienced. There is a huge range to choose from, with focused evenings such as Asian, Indian, Spanish, BBQ cuisine etc. The quality of the cooking and preperation was fantastic, you would have expected the food you were selecting to have been prepared by a fancy resturant in the town with the quality we received. Our first time at Mar Hotels, having spoken to many families who were on their second or third return to the hotel, it is fair to say we will be back again in the future.
