Sokcho Eastern Tourist Hotel

This hotel has probably the best location in Sokcho. It is located 100 meters away both from the bay and from Sokcho's main market. And the backdoor of the hotel leads you directly to the main shopping street. The hotel itself is a medium size hotel. Rooms are OK: not very big but modern, clean and with all the usual amenities, including a desktop PC. The free breakfast is very limited as reported by others but it's OK for a few days. The room rate can double or triple during high season as is the case for all Korean hotels located on the seaside, so try to get a room in the low season if you can. For instance, the room rate is usually cheaper in June and by the end of August (compared to July till mid-August). Four things you should do when you are in Sockcho (and they are all very close from this hotel): (1) go to the beach (you can cross the bay on a traditional boat to get to the beach) (2) visit the "Abai" village (it's on your way to the beach anyway) (3) eat a platter of grilled fish (only 12,000 wons per person, you can pick any of the places near the hotel) and (4) visit the central market.
