We went to try the experience in a hanok but the room was very small and the structure is not well maintained, the entrance to an alley is full of cranberries. Also when we paid with the paper he told us that there was a 10% over-pricing, this particular item could be pre-booked earlier. The shared outdoor bathrooms are quite clean. Breakfast is included but you have to prepare it, there is tea, coffee, milk, cookies, bread, butter, eggs. Last day we left at 7:00 at the airport and he didn't even allow us to go to the kitchen to make breakfast, because breakfast is at 8:00.

Increased payment

This is such a lovely place to stay, in a safe area and on the doorstep of the Bukchon Hanok Village and places. Its a stones throw from Anguk station and because the Seoul MRT is cheap and amazing, for me it was the perfect place to stay. I stayed in the single room with no private bathroom and is was clean and comfortable. It was small but if that doesn’t bother you then don’t let it put you off. The shared bathrooms are in the courtyard right outside the room, I never had to queue for them and they were super clean and the showers lovely and hot. Uni is such a welcoming host, she even brought me lovely Korean food one evening. If you are eating nearby then right behind the house is a really yummy pizza place and on the same street, down towards the station, there is an English style cafe that has the most amazing choice of cakes and scones (okay, not very Korean but sometimes when you are away, you want a taste of home!). I loved staying at Uni’s place and if, as a solo traveller on a budget, I return to Seoul then I would stay in her charming guest house again.

I didn’t actually get to stay on this property, as she had overbooked, but she arranged with a friend for me to have another room with a private bathroom, and that property was awesome. Do you original property,  needed a clean,  and I wasn’t really there long enough to say more ....  well I was a little frustrated that she lost my reservation, I was very impressed at the speech she had me set up someplace else and the fact that it was a upgrade helped a lot. I’d be willing to try it again. Neighborhood is amazing, and there’s so much to do in the area around it. Food shopping you name,  It is the neighborhood deep in history, and is lotta fun.

My wish to stay in a Hanok house came true! The price was the cheapest among other hanok house accomodations, and it is a pretty decent guesthouse! The location is its strongest pluspoint.. it was only few minutes away from Bukchon Hanok Village, so we could reach the village very early in the morning before other tourist starts crowding the place. Changdeokgung palace is only ~10 minutes away from the guesthouse, and we also walked to Gyeongbokgung Palace

Budget Hanok Stay

Location is right off main shopping thoroughfare & historic district... so convenient! Inside is like a calm oasis off the bustling street. Hostess Uli was so very kind and welcoming and spoke good English. It functions like a small group hostel... private room, shared toilet and kitchenette and lounge... a little of everything you may need (including washer), and all very clean. For the location, the experience of a traditional Hanok house, and the intimate experience, the cost was very good. This was one of the best decisions we made in our travels!

Excellent! Exceeded Expectations

The hanok is just less than a 10 minute walk from Anguk station, making train travels easy for us. Hanbok rental shops were all very close by, and also the Gyeongbokgung Palace and village are just down the road. Uni was also very helpful and gave us suggestions of tourist places to visit in Seoul - she also has 2 really friendly dogs. The hanok, bathrooms and kitchen were all clean, free WiFi, air conditioning was a life saver during the summer, Uni buys food every morning and the kitchen is open for all guests to use.

We liked this cozy homestay. The owner was friendly and helpful. The location was good, close to attractions, subway, and restaurants. The room was small but comfortable. The garden was cute and we enjoyed morning coffee and late night drinks there.

Cozy homestay

We stayed in Hanok Gesthouse 202 1. Nice location. 3 orange line, Anguk St., 3 exit. From the subway straight up and to the left down Gyoyedong-gil street to the end and to the left, the passage to the hotel will be to the right, near the gate. From the subway to go 10-15 minutes. From the airport with all the crossings, crossings are two hours. All the main historical attractions are within walking distance. Quiet, very pleasant. Coffee number 2. We had a 2 local place with our bathroom. 5 room. The room is small, very thick with milk.

Immersion in Tradition

It's a great place! It's chosen specifically to experience and experience the traditional Korean way of life. The indoor courtyard, sleeping on the floor - it's all great! If you're constantly looking for new emotions and don't mind spending a little comfort on it, I recommend this option.

Get out of the Korean way

The hotel's hostess deserves a separate conversation - kind, responsive, genuinely interested in the visitors, alert. This attitude creates a home atmosphere and makes you feel like in your family. Many small things are taken into account, which at first glance are not so important, but also contribute to the creation of comfort. Thank you for your wonderful holiday, Uni!!!
