Minjoonggak Guesthouse

It was clean and warm inside. I got many carings and had a nice dinner with friends in Minjoonggak. They made my journey much more funs and unforgettable memories. I love Jeju I love Minjoonggak family.

Has washing machine and detergent free for use. Clothes dried within a night at the rooftop. Not a luxury type of hotel but it is enough to give me a comfortable stay. Owner have useful advice on which road to avoid for driving due to difficult and taught us how to take bus to hike hallasan. There's also free hallabong oranges. Got drinking water cooler. Got hot water in sink and got bath tub. I think paying 28sgd per night is well worth it. Walking distance to the food street, lots of restaurants. Got a pretty good coffee place next door. And also free parking! Definitely worth it if you don't need luxury hotel.

Great location, very friendly owners and their English is okay! Not very clean and new but for the price it's great!

What a discovery I made on this trip!  I am sharing it with you, my fellow travelers. I am planning to come to this hotel again and again.  As a retiree travelling all over the world only 365 days a year, this kind of discovery is what I consider "collectible".  This hotel is managed by owners - husband and wife - with great care and pride.  They were super nice and quite knowledgeable about the culture and history of the island. They taught me quite a few local Jeju dialects.  Each room has is own bathroom with a bathtub. The location of the hotel was just ideal - at the entrance of the well known dinning streets offering tens of local delicacies.

3 days on Jeju Island, which has been newly named one of the world's Natural Wonders.  The guesthouse is situated at one of the island's tourist centers and provides great value for a very clean, safe and we'll maintained guesthouse with great amenities.

I would stay again, and would recommend it due to great location, clean room.

It is the best place to stay in Jeju island because the bus stop is very close and you can board the bus which goes to most of the attractions in Jeju island. The owner was so caring and helpful answering to all my questions.

Apart from convenient location to food street (a good size supermarket at the end of the food street) opp the guest house, there's the big daily market for fruit and vegetables and cooked food nearby, the bus terminal in walking distance and nice boutiques in Jungang Ru which leads to the coastline for ports and waterfalls. Jeju is big on their Jeju Olle Trail since 2007 and you can walk the 21 routes taking bus at the bus terminal making the guesthouse ideal place as a base. Room is spacious and clean with attached bathroom for private use - fridge, hairdryer, air conditioning and heating system. They also provide washing machines for your use on the top floor and you can hang washing out on the roof top. The owner couple are friendly, helpful and generous - I just love this special guesthouse! Perhaps one may think of bringing own bed sheet with you - perhaps it's not guesthouse in Jeju to provide bed sheet. Thank the owner couple sooo much - the stay there may well be one of the reasons I return to Jeju.

The hotel was simple but clean with friendly staff. It was almost at the center of town and you could walk most of it. Lots of awesome restaurants around within 2 minutes of walking.I would come back any time!

It was really nice and comfortable place to rest after a very long tiring day....

It was the cheapest hostel I could find while visiting Jeju. Really good value per price.   I reserved this through 'Hotels.com' which supports Paypal. 9.47 USD for 4-male dorm. Total 11.46 USD. It's a little bit expensive to me.  This was the cheapest hostel available in Hotels.com, which is the reason I booked here. And I found that there were lots of foreigners. Because it was cheap....  This was transformed from old motel(yeokwan). Therefore each room has its own toilet and shower. And top floor you can find common room and also kitchen. I think the owner made right decision. This is the way to make more money...

To get there from the airport, I took bus number 181 about 1 hour. I stopped at Jungan Rotary. I walked around 4-5 minutes to the guesthouse.  I was arrived at there around 1:30 PM. And I could immediately check-in. 

The room was spacious. I have two pillows, one is thicker than the other. I find the bed is hard. The bathroom is old but works perfectly. There are toiletries available. If you leave the room, put your key on the receptionist table so they could clean your room. 

The service is good. They changed the towels and emptied the bin every day. 
The facilities are good, it isn’t luxury but they have many things, like oven, microwave, shoe dryer, 2 washing machines, water dispenser, fridge, a drying rack. So you will get anything you need. 

Sometimes the internet was a bit slow. 

Location is really good. Many buses to reach many tourist destinations. Perfect place as your basecamp in Jeju. And on foot, you can reach interesting places, like the food streets, a waterfall, or a fresh market. 

Verdict: I enjoyed my stay here.

Pretty old building giving you the feeling that is not clean but it is and quite comfortable with heated floor and heated mattress. From the airport, take bus 181 and get off at Jung Ang rotary station and the guesthouse is only 5 mins walk away. My roommate was a korean lady. She was quite loud when she woke up and she woke up early. But when I woke up she offered to cook breakfast and shared with me. Very nice lady. Just that I had to sleep at the same time and wake up at the same time with her otherwise I won’t get enough sleep since I’m a very light sleeper. The owners are very kind and helpful. When I first checked in, he asked me to pay 55,000 won after he realized that it should be 50,000 won, he gave 5,000 won back to me. Very honest guy. I had so many questions of how to get around and where to go. The guy answered every single of my question with a smile. They even lent me a pair of crampons for my hiking Hallasan. Also carefully told me which bus to take. There are water dispenser on the main floor at the reception and on the top floor. There are also washing machines on the top floor where you can do free laundry. Top floor seems to be a common area but when I was there, there were just me and my roommate. There was no kitchen stove and utensils but my roommate had pack a whole kitchen with her so she cooked with her own utensils. Seems like she will stay here for a long time. As opposed to how old the building look, the WiFi is super fast and accessible everywhere in the building.

The best guesthouse I have ever been

We had the traditional korean room. The room was clean and nice, bathroom was ok. Mosquitos managed to come inside every night, but the hotel provided anti mosquito equipment. Location is brilliant, close to air port shuttle bus, extremely close to important bus stations such as bus 780. Very close to waterfall, and right next to the hotep is a food street with an excellent variety of dishes to try.

Great location for travelling around the island. Nearby small bus terminal (3 mins walk) made it easy to take bus 780 to Hallasan or 702/701 to go to the East or West.Quiet, central location within easy reach of little market (5 mins walk), great restaurants and shops.7 mins walk from Airport Limousine bus.Stayed in 4-bedroom comfortable, clean bunkbed. Towels, shampoo, bedding provided.
