The guesthouse has the most beautiful garden, I ever stayed. Our apartment was very comfortable as were the beds. We had a kitchen and a place to eat outside. We felt safe and our car could be parked in the fenced area. The staff was very helpful and friendly. There is nothing negative. I would have liked to stay longer. Very strongly recommended,

Old Nectar is an excellent option for a stayover in excellent facilities, located in the Jonkershoek area. Superb location, beautiful gardens, walking trails, scenery and the extra surprise ie bread, milk in fridge, weber braai outside with all that is required.

We had a wonderful stay and couldn’t possibly have asked for more. The setting and gardens are incredible, the accommodation is spotless, cleaned daily, comfortable and just all round generous with all sorts of provisions in place to save you needing to shop for at least a day or two! The check in and out is easy and everyone was charming and welcoming. It is a well run operation!!! The pool is also spotlessly clean and wonderfully cool under huge oak trees. There is parking outside and the property feels comfortable and safe. It is a lovely place to be and we will be back. Thank you so much for having us.

The best place we have ever been on holidays. Beautiful gardens, perfect cottage. Everybody was so very nice and helpful. We had a wonderful time at Old Nectar. Very near Stellenbosch but here you find rest and privacy.

The cottage was absolutely marvelous, embedded in a unique garden. We had a fantastic time at cottage 4. We felt always safe and very welcome. Thanks for the filled fridge by the way.... We definetly want to come back. Thanks for all Mari!

Old Nectar is an uplifting experience from start to finish. Expect the warmest of Cape Winelands welcomes and the utmost generosity. Hazel is the epitome of a gracious, friendly host making us feel welcome from the get go. The cottage is in pristine condition with facilities and details that make one feel right at home - in fact, as if someone had prepared it especially for your arrival. The surrounding gardens are well cared for with plenty of lighting and paved walkways. Maps, reading matter and goodies in the fridge top off the list of oh-so satisfying amenities. *****!

We felt so privileged to have been guests of this hidden garden. Our cottage for two couples was lovely in every detail, beautifully renovated. Understated elegance with a classic touch. The Old Nectar seduced us gently to read and learn more about gardening, about life. We did love the dedication of all members of the team who are continuing this next family chapter. During our short stay we have enjoyed every second. 

Great location, beautiful gardens, awesome nature and bird life.  Definitely will return for visit especially because you can visit  a lot of other spots in the immediate surroundings or just relax at your chalet swimming having "braai" feeling as if you are at home.

Fantastic

This is not a hotel. We rented Plum Cottage on the periphery of the estate for four nights. Plum Cottage has three double bedrooms, two bathrooms and a private (unheated) pool. The cottage was well appointed and well equipped although an extra hairdryer would have been helpful as we were four adults. We particularly enjoyed our garden tour with Richard who was so knowledgeable and gave us a lot of time.

Botanical dream

Attention to detail is great with lots of small items in the unit. Mari and the team is extremely friendly and helpful and the unit is very neat with everything you need in it. Quality of bedding is great, so are the utensils, with enough breakfast goodies to feed the family. It is tranquil and beautiful with the gardens unique and so well maintained, you just want to relax in the gardens and recharge the batteries. So close to Stellenbosch, a mere 5 km to the centre of the city. Old Nectar is highly recommended and we will definitely stay there gain when going down to Stellenbosch.

Awesome Accomodation

This was our second visit to The Old Nectar Gardens. It just gets better we stayed in the cottage which had everything in it we needed for self catering. The gardens are so peaceful and relaxing especially on a evening when we had the garden to ourselves. Thank you Mari and Hazel for our wonderful stay.
