Serenahof

We booked Serenahof for two nights at the last minute via Booking.com and we had two main needs: to be within walking distance of central Stellenbosch including the campus and value as we were on a tight budget. We chose the studio apartment although they have other larger apartments for available. On arrival we were shown in to the secure parking and allocated a parking space right next to our front door. Serenahof was built in 1946 and the high ceilings and layout of the place denotes the period in which it was built. The kitchen was well equipped with the latest Bosch washing machine, fridge / freezer and all new kitchen utensils, crockery and cutlery. The bedroom which served as a sitting room had two easy rocking chairs and a flat screen tv. The bathroom had a huge walk in shower, and we even had a balcony with tables and chairs overlooking the grassy area at the front of the building. Yes the building is old and the stairwells to the upper floor can be echoey if people are talking in them, Yes the block is on a street which is used as a walk through between Stellenbosch and the river so there are constantly people too and fro but none of this detracted from the fact that we enjoyed our stay - Serenahof delivered exactly what we wanted and at great value.
