Just returned from a trip to the Cape amongst other parts and BIG mention to Dorian and the team and Cactusberry Lodge for a really great stay. Comfy Beds and Pillows, great Breakfasts and an all-round great stay. Highly recommended ***** star

The perfect place to stay.  We  stayed for one night then returned for another three. It’s a straightforward drive to/from the airport and is centrally located so you have easy access to all that Cape Town has to offer. 
The building and parking area is very secure. Everything was very clean and well kept. The beds are very comfortable and there is lounge and two outdoor seating areas where you can relax when not out and about.

On our second visit we stayed in the two room premium suite. The private lounge area and bedroom are both very spacious and we had our own balcony where we sat for our evening drink. If you are in Cape Town for a few days I highly recommend the suite.

Dorian and the staff are very friendly and approachable. The breakfast was delicious and there is an Italian restaurant within a safe walking distance from the lodge. It’s worth asking Dorian about the restaurant and make a booking as it is very popular.
If we return to Cape Town, we will definitely be back :)

We stopped in Cape Town for 6 days on our grand tour across South Africa .
It's a beautiful boutique Bed and Breakfast .
Barbara and her wonderful team were excellent . Barbara as always was so helpful and suggesting activites or sorting out tickets for tours for us.
She also organised a taxi to pick us up from Capetown Airport .
Highly recommend this fantastic place .
Fantastic breakfasts and it's like a home from home .
We had a large double bedded room downstairs this time .Each room has ensuite and fridge and tea coffee facilities.
They have a honesty box arrangement for drinks non and alcoholic which are payable at the end of your stay.
Excellent customer service and definitely would recommend this as a place to stay in Cape Town 


I am a little early with this review as this is our third night of four staying here.
From check in which was after hours we were welcomed by Barbara shown around the house & our rooms which were large & clean, as we had arrived late we were offered a later breakfast time and this kind of hospitality has been ongoing.
The breakfast had a good hot & cold variety with great service.
Thank you Barbara & staff for making this a great start to our Safari holiday.

Although I was just invited for a free breakfast there, I was most impressed by the friendliness of manager- and staff. I spend a good few hours there enjoying the inner courtyard and was impressed by their clean, up-to-scratch rooms. They are in walking distance of the Gardens Shopping Centre and center town is also not too far away. I would recommend them to especially self-drives!

After booking this stay I had emails from Barbara about our arrival long before we came. We had a late flight into Cape Town and wouldn't arrive until 10pm. Barbara arranged to be there to greet us and made us very welcome. She showed us how the gates worked and gave us a quick tour of the house before we all retired for bed. The room was very comfortable and clean. The air con very efficient. Breakfast was outside on the terrace and excellent. I had informed Barbara that my husband was coeliac and she had found some excellent gluten free for him. The breakfast was cooked to order and very good. Barbara was extremely helpful in helping us plan our days, advising us where to catch the bus and what to see. I would definitely go back. Thank you for a wonderful few days. I highly recommend Cactusberry Lodge.

Small lodge near downtown. Rather small rooms, nice breakfast. Barbara is very helpful with recommendations for the city. Unfortunately, due to safety concerns one cannot leave the small rooms on foot and there is not much to do in the lodge.
