Feel the nature! The river, the birds, the frogs - and the milky way. It's one of the darkest places around, so enjoy the view. Also the property itself is very lovely, clean with enough space. You will get 5l of water for cooking, a very good wifi und tv connection (you won't need them). Great place to enjoy some quiet days - the way via gravel roads and perhaps ferry: it's worth!

The Breede River is a wonderful wide and powerful river. It has big fish and even river sharks, as well as super boating and a peaceful getaway. Tides is a very comfortable well equipped location with all the facilities you could want and more.

Very enjoyable. Tranquility at it’s best. Cozy fireplace, exceed expectations. Service by friendly staff, with sunset over the Bree River. The perfect place to explore the area along the river, and to accommodate large groups comfortable, ie family or with friends.

The lodge was a pleasant surprise, and we wish we could have spent another 2 days there. The cleanliness and provision of facilities and amenities was impressive. Our 1 night stay was inadequate, and we missed out on many of the great experiences on offer. The road in from the main road needed a bit more grading.

Perfect location along the river for young kids as the beautiful lawns going onto the water means they can enjoy the river by wading in. Accommodation was comfortable, clean and neat with everything you need. Great value for money. We had a wonderful stay and loved it so much we stayed an extra night! Will definitely be back. 

It is a peaceful clean place . The lawn and garden was well maintained. Daniel the caretaker was very professional. The soap holder in shower of the Boathouse however  needs a upgrade   .We can recommend this accommodation anytime .

Our weekend at Tides River Lodge was just what we needed after our second lock down.  A little slice of heaven on the banks of the Breede River.  Accommodation was great, service fantastic and the little extras like the hot tub were just what we needed.  I could have stayed a week and will definitely be back.

We only visited for one night but loved the view, facilities, star gazing and river.  Will definitely come back.  Thank you to the staff who looked after us!  Lovely location.  Great for families with kayaks.

Great self catering accommodation in lovely grounds right on the bank of the Breede River. Very comfortable and well equipped cottage, friendly and helpful on site manager. A lovely quiet and peaceful spot only about 30 mins drive off the N2. Highly recommended. 

We had a lovely stay at Tides River Lodge. The apartment was well-equipped and very comfortable; and the river views and peace and quiet at the lodge made this an unforgettable experience! We will definitely be back, and next time for longer!

Impressed with this lodge’s facilities and setting

Relaxing & tranquil.

Beautiful accommodation and the perfect spot for swimming in the river and some fishing.
The gravel road leading to Malgas is quite long, but not too bad.

Just a suggestion : Some steak knives needs to be added - it was quite a challenge when it came to our steak dinner 😊

The place is perfect for kids!

Tranquility at Tides River Lodge

Really fab place to stay. Lovely that the river is tidal and so the birdlife almost comes right up to your door. Lovely for anybody that is interested in the birdlife. Lots of species to see. Very chilled. Would definitely return. Second bedroom should have had a larger double bed which would have made sleeping better for a couple. Master bedroom was lovely.

Fantastic spot on the Breede River

What a lovely place on the breede river near Sijnn wineyards. 
Our telephone contact 07222478164 on Friday on my mind. We are glad we did not take the offer for the Big house.  At anchorage we had the protection from the strong winds. Some basic elements were missing:
1. In the bathroom the shower has no curtain or glass wall to prevent the water flowing into the bathroom floor. (See foto) it is a challenge to close the showertap, so wet floor. 
2. We missed reading lamps at the beds as supplied in the other chalets. Daniele was able to organize lamps. 
3. In the kitchen and in the "living room" no curtains especially when dark and.open for views from outside..
The old small fridge not for 4 people runs ten minutes then is silent for 20 then....and disturbs our sleep at night as there are no doors 
I do not want to mention the standard microwave, TV and coffee machine. 
We could live without and give you to consider if the 400R extra justify all this and the missing viewas can be enjoyed e.g. in kingfisherlodge. 

Your 2 men were helpful and do a good job  all was clean....

My wife left her green Jacket in the lodge. I phoned CT (number as above). "I am not coming for a month or so." Her custom orientation was up to..!!!No shared search for a solution how this jacket can get to Cape town, unfriendly, matter of fact, no empathy.

The Boathouse which is the lodge I stayed in was very clean and the kitchen had everything one would want to cook a meal. The only problem was that I failed to pick up any provisions. Not a problem as there was a nearby shop. The only problem was the road from the main gravel path to and from Tides River Lodge. I am sure that if you had a 4X4 it would have been no problem, but I had a small car with a very low undercarriage. I was very nervous about the damage that could be inflicted by the high central reservation.. Other than that all good.

Tides River Lodge

The property is off the beaten track and Malgas is only accessible via a gravel road but if you want somewhere to escape and enjoy lovely views this is the place to go. The Boathouse is very well equipped with a spacious shower, all required kitchen utensils and surprisingly good wifi despite the remote location. If you are tall the sloping roof may be a challenge. The view of the river is wonderful and there are free kayaks available. De Hoop is around 30km away via gravel roads and you can take the quaint Malgas ferry which is pulled across the river by hand and visit Witsand. This is a great place to escape and chill, just remember to visit the supermarket first, it’s a long way to go to get supplies!
