Fantastic
30 reviewsThis five-star lodge in the illustrious Sabi Sands is a true gem, a shining beacon amidst the wilderness. In fact, it deserves a much higher rating than five stars. From the moment we swept through the grand entryway of the Mapogo Villa, we were positively transfixed by the sheer opulence and grandeur surrounding me. The splendor is perhaps only topped by the unparalleled game drives conducted with Cheetah Plains' fleet of electric game viewing vehicles. Gone are the days of rumbling, gas-guzzling monstrosities - these silent, zero-emission marvels allow one to glide effortlessly through the bush, observing Africa's wonder in the most eco-conscious manner. To creep up on a magnificent pride of lions or leopard carelessly sleeping in a tree is truly breathtaking and unforgettable. The food here is also out of this world. The chefs are total magicians, taking the local ingredients and turning them into dishes that make your taste buds dance. We had the most incredible meals, from breakfast in the wilderness to sundowners under the stars. Total luxury and adventure. And the accommodations? Straight-up decadent. Our suite was designed to perfection, with plush linens and high-tech gadgets. But the real highlight was the view - panoramic vistas of the untamed Sabi Sands, teeming with wildlife. We could've spent hours just watching the sun dip below the horizon. The staff here are also the absolute best. They anticipated our every need and provided five-star service with so much charm and warmth. We indulged in spa treatments, swam in the infinity pool, and savored more amazing meals. Just pure bliss, start to finish. Cheetah Plains is truly a one-of-a-kind oasis that transports you to another world. If you're looking to get away from it all and reconnect with nature's majesty, this is the place to do it. We can't recommend it highly enough!
