We thoroughly enjoyed our stay was exactly what we hoped for. Will definitely book at Bella Rosa again when we go to Ficksburg next year. Johan was friendly host and shared history with us which was great as it was our first time in Ficksburg.

We were treated like kings by Johan and Estelle. Everything worked 100%. We stayed for 3 days. Very safe. Comfortable rooms. Best breakfast in the Free State.  Even before our arrival, we received good communication.  Kgotso is a star. Will visit  again.

The Manager of Bella Rosa and the Owner Oom Jan, went out of their way to make sure that we had anything we needed.  Super Friendly super clean, and a stunning breakfast from Fruit, 
Cereal, yoghurt, Tea, and coffee, followed with Egg, Wors and Tomato,  My one and only suggestion is they get Normal tea and not just Rooibos.


Really great stay for 2 weeks while attending the Stars of Sandstone event.

The team at Bella Rosa couldn't have been more helpful, from booking right through to check out, really helpful, kind and polite.

Accommodation was really comfortable and spacious with everything that was needed during the stay.

Access was straightforward and available at all hours which was ideal given our early hours and late evenings.

Breakfast was a lovely mix of cereals, toast and cooked and all very nice.

Would definitely stay again

Although just passing through and for one night we felt so welcome and at home we could have spent longer.Bela Rosa is very conveniently situated for destinations north,south and east.We can recommend a stay here if travelling on the N6

Johan and Estelle  van Rensburg lovely hospitable hosts .  Slept warm and comfy. Had a enormous delicious breakfast.  Bella Rosa guesthouse is worth a try and value for your money! Will definitely visit them again

Despite my initial negative response to the room allocated due to the small size and the problem with the toilet and the reservation all ended in a fantastic two night stay.
The bed was clean and slept well. A small problem with the toilet was quickly sorted by the   to by owner.. Thereafter we had a fantastic stay and slept well. The service  at the fully licensed bar was outstanding  and long hours were spend on the "stoep" together with other guests. The in house restaurant provider food of a high standard (Supper and breakfast. Staff are very friendly and the service good.. I recommend  this place  to all.

We were visiting the Sandstone Heritage Trust farm and stayed over one night. The reception was very helpful and showed me to my room. The Guest House has a "antique" feel to it but suited all my requirements. Comfortable bed, could watch a bit of the IPL on DSTV, warm shower and a hearty breakfast. It ticks the boxes and I had a comfortable stay-over. Maybe needs a bit of maintenance here and there, but all in all I enjoyed my stay.

Rooms are clean and neat with historic furniture and decor. Breakfast is good. With historic sandstone buildings, there is an antique feel about the place. Not sure about vegetarian options. Dining setting is very pleasant.


We arrived fairly late on a very cold Sunday evening to a warm welcome. We were shown our accommodation, which was very comfortable and up to our expectations.An early start ( 07h00) meant that the breakfast in freezing temperatures( 2 deg.) was most welcome and enjoyable. A good place to stopover
