Just completed a thoroughly enjoyable two week stay at Bayview Penthouse. The accommodation is situated at the top of Camps Bay in Cape Town. The area is safe, quiet and situated near lots of hiking trails. There is a local shop and Hussar grill about 20 minutes away and a little bit further away are a range of restaurants and shops. As it is a tough walk back up the hill, we sometimes caught an Uber which was cheap and readily available.

The property is traditionally styled, clean and well equipped. A bonus for me was that it had all of the premier league football live in tv which I wasn’t expecting. We stayed in the penthouse which came with a jacuzzi and stunning view of the bay and mountain.

The staff at Bayview were very attentive and professional. The cleaning team were amazing keeping our room clean and tidy at all times. The receptionists were very helpful when we needed their help due to a delayed flight / after hours check in. On the day of our departure they allowed us to check out late and then allowed to use the pool / shower room in a nearby guest house of theirs. 

All in all, a really good holiday made special by the hardworking staff at Bayview. Cheers.

Fantastic two week break

Lost for words when trying to review this beautiful place so I'll let the photos do most of the talking. This place is amazing!!! Lovely warm welcome from the owner Gerard, a glass of wine and a lovely chat on arrival, what more do you need? Just do yourselves a favour and stay here, you won't regret it

Heavenly stay

Four years later, we returned to Cape Town, and what a surprise to see our guests who had welcomed us to the Atlantic Gold, which also owns the Bayview Penthouses. The penthouse is very spacious with a living room, kitchenette with all the essentials and a jacuzzi. The bathroom is spacious and the room is comfortable (plus for the warm bed because in September it's very cold!).

Very nice location and amazing view!

I loved this place in the heart of Cape Town, surrounded by nothing but beauty mountains and sea views. The penthouse is stunning and looks exactly like the pictures it’s picture perfect!! Apon my arrival at the venue I got not only a welcome drink but a welcoming bottle of South African wine yaaaaaay!!!! The hostess Idalette Janse van Rensburg and Xolile Mati was super nice and welcoming well groomed and bubbly. I personally can not wait to visit again thanks you Gerald and the team!

Best welcoming luxury place to visit

Camps Bay is outside central Cape Town but it is a much nicer place to stay. It is more up-market and very quiet. Ubering into the city centre was cheap and easy.

The Bay View Penthouses are set high on a hill and the views are to die for! The wife and I felt lucky.

Our Sea View Bedroom looked over the ocean and it was delight to wake up to this view each morning. The lounge area is lovely.

Gerald, our lovely host, gave us a guide as to what to do and see. This went on for over 15 minutes but his information was invaluable. We took Gerald's advice and it was well worth it. Trust a local!

The bath-room fittings were of a high quality but do not expect much of the cooking facilities. This was 2 mobile hobs, but you do get a kettle, fridge and lots of crockery. Far better to eat out. Luckily, Camps Bay is blessed with great places. Go into Cape Town Central and the choice is endless.

The wife and I would happily return.

Fantastic Base for Cape Town

We stayed 7 nights in one of the 2 penthouses and couldn't have made a better choice:

- the location is perfect: ideally positioned in the hills of Camps Bay, very peaceful yet only a 5min (20min walk) from the "buzziness" of CB. The views are hands down the best you will find in Cape Town, and the sun sets just in front of the balcony. Absolutely perfect spot to have a crisp glass of SA white wine 
- the host: Alice provided a stellar service, ahead of our trip as well as during the entirety of our stay. She went out of her way to help us plan our week and spent time upon our arrival to make sure we had all the info we needed and make the most out of our stay. 
- the venue: very well kitted out, the bed is huge and very comfortable. The rooms (bedroom, bathroom and living room) are all very spacious. Very quiet at night.  The pool and the surrounding area are beautiful (pool is cold), and we barely saw anyone during the entirety of our stay so it very much feels like you're the only ones in the property. 

All in all, a great place on all fronts, which we will be recommending to friends and family, and going back to hopefully soon!

Best place to stay in Cape Town

Alice and Gerald were amazing! So unbelievably helpful, but allowed us our own space when needed. Their advice on the restaurants, places to visit, times, prices etc was unpresidented!

The penthouse we stayed in was amazing, with views from our balcony that beat the local viewpoints that people travel to! The standalone bath was incredible, with views over the bay that were fresh out of a magazine! Onsite, safe parking, with Uber cars only minutes away no matter what the time!

Alice and Gerald’s knowledge of the town and willingness to help and advise was truly above and beyond and we couldn’t recommend these apartments enough!

If you’re considering the area but aren’t sure which place to stay, I couldn’t recommend the Bayview Penthouses enough!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It’s a solid 11 out 10 from us!

Amazing!!!!

This place is splendid, conveys peace, security, passionate, unique. Alice and Gerald are tireless, attentive, hospitable, I had the best seven days in South Africa ever, being the third time I've been to this city. I recommend this magnificent place, in particular the room I stayed in sea view, with a fantastic and stunning view from the bed... even to these hospitable Alice and Gerald without words.

Relaxed, passionate, and very peaceful

Alice and Gerald are a welcoming couple and so excited for you to be there. They assist you with the best restaurants and places to go.  The view was breathtaking and you could quite happily sit on your balcony, drink wine and enjoy the view. The units were cleaned on a daily basis and everything was there that you needed. Location was also great being in Camps Bay

Breathtaking

Alice and Gerald were so friendly and were brilliant hosts. They assisted us with accommodation on short notice and as an additional bonus we received 10% discount. The room was made available before the usual check in time. The service we received was exceptional and they were very welcoming. The Location was perfect with lounger chairs on patio overlooking the beautiful Ocean and the windows captured beautiful Mountain View’s. 

We will definitely consider visiting in future. It was affordable and did not cost a fortune.
