We spent two nights at the Amakhaya Lodge. Lee was always well looked after. Even when my stomach failed, Lee was immediately ready with a banana and water. Rooms and swimming pool are fine. And we had a fantastic view from our elephant room.

Short stay

The accommodation was recommended to us by friends. We were able to book easily and uncomplicated. Pierre was always available before the trip and during the stay and provided us with information and insider tips. The view from the giraffe room simply overwhelmed us. We could quickly get used to waking up every morning with such a view. The greeting was very warm, everyone was super friendly and there was a familiar and family atmosphere. Our highlight was the Harley-Tour Cape of Good Hope.

Great hotel under German management not far from the sea super breakfast price performance excellent with car and Harley rental and even German TV.

Christmas 2019

For over 20 years we have been making our own annual Harley-Davidson tours, this time in the Cape Town region and for the first time with a guide for an eight-day tour: Pierre Dohrmann, the lodge's boss, did it himself.............and how! perfectly organized, tours, hotels and food, left and routinely in the face of problems.

Had a fantastic time at this place.  Friendly welcome by Tim.  The lodge is small so you got to talk to all the guests during meal time. Our ranger Ryan was friendly and informative.  Having done safaris as big safari parks it was pleasant to see the animals without 10 other jeeps circling around the same area.  Having had said that you don't see the same amount of animals as you would in a bigger park.  The food was very good too.  Nice bar area with good selection of drinks (all inclusive). The rooms are spread out with a private covered "terrace" area with loungers and excellent views of the surrounding grounds.  Huge bathroom with a big bath and shower.  Great luxury accommodation overlooking the game reserve.

It was a great lodge and we are grateful for the service we were offered.

Clean hotel

We were picked up very kindly and on time at Pierre's airport and immediately felt at home. Whether it was excursions or other questions... Pierre and his wife showed us the absolute hotspot. It was more than neat and clean. We are happy to be back. A heartfelt thank you from all of us.

Family leave

What a beautiful position Amakhaya Lodge is in. The view of the Hout Bay is stunning. We stayed in The Giraffe suite. It was comfortable, one could take in the view from the comfort of the double bed, gorgeous. All the amenities were adequate and the breakfast was good. Friendly staff and a happy "African Ambience" in decor and situation. Would definitely return for a longer stay.

Hi, I was 14tg on the site and it was beautiful from the first to the last day. I shouldn't be writing this to take the risk that it's not a secret tip anymore, but that would be unfair to all the great people at the Amakhaya lodge!)) Unforgettable Unforgettable

Perfect quiet spot on the bay. hosts Pierre and his wife very friendly and ready to help at any time. We were there with a group of Harley riders for whom Pierre organized excellent South Africa tour on Harley.We strongly recommend this place, real family atmosphere, excellent breakfast, nice people.
