Fairmont 303

First encountered this Hotel in March 2012 as I was searching for temp accommodation after my previous Hotel residence changed owners. This is now my 4th year residing in this Boutique Hotel as a longtime Guest. The Housekeeping staff are just too friendly and genuinely caring...even taking care of my plants when I am away on business. My Suite is admittedly pretty much one of the 2 largest of 28 rooms, airy and private. And it is eco-friendly, with keycards operating in-room lights which switch off if they sense then absence of a card. Oh, and the hallway lights are motion-sensored to save power too. Front Desk staff are super helpful and convivial, and Hotel General Manager Gareth personally touches base with me regularly to ensure all is OK. Actually, his energy has contributed to me feeling safe, secure, calm and "at home" here. Oh...and it is on the Main Road 1 block from the Sea Point Promenade and ocean...smack bang in the middle of Sea Point with 8 restos (one directly below Hotel-Franky's-is 24h) in 1 block radius, as well as laundromats, bars, antique stores, hairdressing salons, dog parlours and even a nightclub. One downside, sadly, is that Telkom (the national telecommunications monopoly) runs all Net traffic in South Africa...and their service is shocking, meaning Hotel occasionally has WiFi upsets. But when it is up and running, it is FREE (to Guests), fast (for Africa-up to 8 Mbps), and the Hotel Front Desk do their utmost to ensure connectivity 24h...rebooting router on request etc etc. Basically, I liked it so much, I now actually LIVE here! 😇🌎
