Although Petra's owner is very friendly and helpful, and the room is nicely designed with a very good bed, the cleanliness leaves much to be desired. With open windows, despite sea views, it is impossible to sleep: heavy road traffic until late at night and from 5 a.m. onwards, the garbage dumps. It is also not to be seen that the WLAN only works on the terrace.

Too many shortcomings

Visited as part of a trip around Slovenia. Spent two nights.  Let me start by saying hostess Petra is pleasant and helpful. She speaks PERFECT english and She was good at communication and helpful. I feel badly that her strength as a hostess  is in such opposition to the feeling we had about the place.  We have now been all around Slovenia and are clear this is not the way it should be! It also was too much money for this level. Piran is not cheap for anything, but this was not ok!
The room was one we had reserved as we were a group of three (adults). The room was NOT CLEAN. The bedding aside, there were dustballs, hair and generally the place did not have a pleasant clean feeling to it. Bugs smudged on walls, and surfaces unclean. T Both me and my daughter walked around in flip flops so as to avoid touching the floor. The hot water ran out and even when tank "full" did not shower three of us after a long hot day. Not ok!  The place has the potential to be nice and needs a good once over. A light in the second room didnt work (which maid cleaned with no light available?) . Petra responded and called electirican who came next day (asap) as it was evening. Wifi access is not good. There is improper control of the Air Conditioning which we were told the remote for the unit had been stolen and would arrive in Sept. Not useful or reasonable solution.The location is good, free parking a help, but it has a shabby feel once inside. Agree with other reviewer- some investment could make this a good place.  Would not suggest it and would not return.

Potential not reached!

The hostess, Petra, was very pleasant, personable and helpful. She was present on our arrival and had got the "Buga" room ready early for us. The property was spacious and featured a new cooker, and was only yards from the beach. Ours was a corner room with an excellent sea view. Free parking was available, a feature that was very rare in Piran.

However, in no way is the property 4-star as listed, being very shabby inside as well as outside. Light bulbs were not working on the ceiling and the cooker; a window was cracked; the amount of crockery and cutlery was inadequate and there wasn't a chopping board; a wifi booster had been stolen but not replaced because of the cost so access to the internet was impossible inside the room. The photo of the property on Booking.com wasn't accurate. Some investment is needed, as the accommodation is not as impressive as the hostess!

Worst of all, after 4 days we and all the other guests  were instructed to leave by bailiffs acting for the local court, owing to a private dispute;  although Petra very kindly organised alternative accommodation and retained our free car parking facility, it was nevertheless disruptive and unsettling. (Within two days the guest house was back in action...)

Mixed experience

AC defect, WiFi on the second floor n/a, conditioned clean service orientation of the hosts very behavioural in/out control for motor vehicles to Piran right in front of the front door.

Slovenia in the year 2017

Best accomodation at the beggining of city Piran with awsome view direct on the Slovenian sea. Modern and comfort style, small parking infront of accomodation. Only 5 m and you can jump in the sea to refresh.

Relax

A good solution for staying in Pirano. Located at the beginning of the country, you can reach it in a few minutes on foot.House of vacations where the owners themselves also stay (nice and available motto), with apartments that are quite spacious, clean and well maintained. we only had a few small logistical problems: when we arrived the owner was not present, although it was a time when the portineria should have been open.

Very nice and well-kept holiday home; some organizational problem

Balcony not usable due to severe noise, bathrooms with no exhaust with sewage smoke, views of public parking and fences, free parking only subject to conditions (cars block each other's entrance and exit), no reception (waiting times for check-in and check-out) Positive assessment was given to the size of the room, the quality of the beds and the friendliness of the housekeeper.

No four-star apartment

We stayed for a whole week in the Santa Caterina room at Mia Chanel and were very happy with the apartment. The main room was spacious, with high ceilings, room for a double bed, dining table, various chests of drawers and an adjacent, fully equipped, kitchen. The bathroom was clean and equipped with a good shower.

There is a large refrigerator, so guests can stock up on food and drink for their stay, and plenty of cupboard and wardrobe space.

The location of the apartments is perfect. Sitting at the edge of Piran, just outside the main tourist centre but opposite a swimming area and small artificial beach, as well as being a very short walk from the bus station, the apartments are a little more peaceful than those in the town centre but, as Piran is a small town, you're never too far from the main attractions. Most impressive is the beautiful sea view, making it easy to watch the gorgeous sunset over the bay from our room window or the outdoor terrace.

However, perhaps because we stayed towards the end of the summer season, there were some repairs needed. The wireless internet connection on our floor didn't work at all, meaning that, if we needed to use the internet, the only option was to sit on the terrace of the floor below, being eaten by mosquitos, in order to connect to a working network. The air conditioning in our apartment was on its last legs and had to be poked with a pen to spur it into action, although once sufficiently motivated it worked well. There was also no bracket to fix the shower head to the wall of the shower, meaning you had to hold the shower head over your own head if you wanted a shower. Hopefully these will be fixed for next season's guests and, to her credit, the landlady did offer us a change of apartment if the air conditioner proved too problematic. 

Despite these few gripes, I would recommend the apartments. Ours was clean, most of the facilities were good, the view is amazing, the location is great and the landlady is helpful and a fluent English speaker. My family had a very enjoyable stay and would do so again.

Nice room, great location, good view, one or two repairs needed

We stayed in a small apartment with a terrace overlooking the sea, very nice: clean, equipped with every comfort (including vacuum cleaner, axle and stir-frying iron). Lacking in kitchen utensils (the schoolyard, the grating, the strofinacs, the towel were missing). It was carefully furnished with modern furniture in red and white colors. Absolutely fabulous position with private car parking. High prices.

Three Unforgettable Days

Really enjoyed my stay here with my boyfriend. The owner is very friendly and helped us with anything we required. The accommodation is very clean and has everything you need (even a good hair drier!). It's small, but we never felt cramped and enjoyed 4 days here. The kitchen is basic but has everything to make a simple meal if you'd rather eat in. 

The location is out of the main Piran tourist area (which we loved) but is only a short 5 minute walk into town for groceries and restaurants. It's also perfect if you want a refreshing dip in the sea, which is literally across the road. Views from your window here are fabulous, looking across Piran town and at the ocean - perfect spot to watch BIG storms and lightening over the sea! 

Only downside here was that being right on the busy main road into Piran the traffic noise can be loud and is ongoing throughout the day, and a little during the night. I'd advise taking ear plugs if you think it might bother your sleep. That said, for us the location and apartment made up for the traffic noise and we are very glad we chose to stay here and not in the main part of the town. 

Top tip- remember to take cash to pay after your stay (we forgot this and had to make a trip into town on our last day..which wasn't all bad as was a good excuse to get an ice-cream on route!).
