Rooms were little bit older without renovation. But on the other hand food was absolutely amazing especially breakfast with lots of options in great quality and quantity. Hotel got cosy sauna next to a small stream. We are definitely visit your place again.

Best food in region.

Very decent place to stay, if you are on budget.  We were group of 4 friends,  we shared double room with one bathroom.  It was very clean, little aged. Staff was very friendly and polite.  We had continental breakfast included, there was good selection of food which met our expectations for the price. Everyone would find something for himself.  Place has also restaurant.  whichlate  in the evening did not have the full selection of food available, which has to be expected considering our off-season stay.  Iur over all experience was very good.  Place has its own parking, which was very usefull. 

Perfect budget place to stay! 

We stopped there for lunch.After 15min of waiting suddenly cook came out from the kitchen and shout on restaurant : "there is no rice and will be not even soon, choose something different". After 30min of waiting we asked where is meal, answer : paper order from cashier "flew out" and they missed our order...
of course we stood up and run away.


Dont eat there

Bar and restaurant looks good. Food tastes ok. Beer is medium tasty. Minus for - No Zloty Bazant :) - or any other famous brands. Rooms....are just like in Slovakia :oooo Comfort is far from acceptable. Furniture is sturdy and old. Clean but it looks funny somehow. Prices are resonable. Free wifi. But those are the only pluses. Its sattled in the dell. No ggreat views. No sun at all on winter or late autumn. Better take something higher (near ski lift). Its hard to find anything like it in Zakopane for example...Zakopane is far more futher - they made they homework. Slovaks mostly stands in the middle. There are few places in Zdiar where comfort is on an european level - but for that - prices are sick even for western european tourist. This one (Pension Zdiar) is only to take a one night sleep (eat continental breakfest - mostly in price of a room) and move on to explore the beautiful parts of Bielanskie Tatry.

Unfortuantely beetween poor and avarage.

We stayed in Zdiar for 3 nights. The location of this place is great, very close to all restaurants and ski center as well. Part of the hotel was a  restaurant called "Goralska karcma"  which was warm and lovely place with great traditional slovak food and nice service. We liked to have a dinner or drinks there. The hotel itself was bit dissapointing, small rooms, old furniture and there was water leaking throught window, one drop a time. Also, we heard a ventilator from the room beneath ours, the floor was vibrating everytime they switched it on, which was annoying especially at night, the sound was very loud.  As well we heard neighbours speaking, walls were like paper. We had breakfast every morning, open tables, you take what you want, simple meals like omellete, cereals etc. Service was nice. Hotel is good for guests, who dont need much, very low budget. Zdiar is lovely pleace, but I would choose another hotel next time. 

Great price, low quality

Though we didn't stay here, we had lunch in the restaurant and dinner several times.  They have traditional Slovakian food that is delicious and reasonably priced.  They also have some traditional German dishes.  The local wine that they sell is good and so is the beer.  We have tasted many items off the menu and never had a bad meal.  The first time we were there it was cool outside and the fireplace was lit.  The décor is lovely with an assortment of plates on the wall over the window and examples of costumes and antique furniture also.  Though some of the staff didn't speak much English, they still managed to be accommodating and menus are available in English.

A Great Little Restaurant

We were in Zdiar for some ancestry tracing and came upon this most pleasant inn.  We had a delicious lunch here after being met by a very friendly innkeeper who spoke some English which made it quite welcoming.  Thie is the place to eat while in Zdiar.
