The building is a lovely old structure with the original coach entry tunnel; in our bedroom, lots of very old exposed beams. The staff were very friendly and spoke good English. The room was spacious and comfortable. It was up a few flights of stairs (no lift). I guess the top floor will be hot in summer, in May it was already getting rather warm in the room. Very peaceful! Loved the location, a short walk to two of the best places to eat and drink in the town, and it is right on the edge of the historic centre. I would certainly stay there again when in the area (there are several other hotel/pensions adjoining, so plenty of choice). Recommended!

Quiet, Clean, Comfortable - Good price

The hotel is not well maintained, paintings, dust …. Bathroom smells…not very good
But the room is very very large ! ( maybe 60m2)

1 night in kosice / downtown

The hotel and the room look like on the pictures. But you cannot smell the bad smell on the pictures. Entering the building you smell an old dirty toilet. We came in in the evening, everything was completely dark and scary. Nobody anywhere. After some time a reception girl came. She was the best point of all. Very nice, sweet, helpful.  To my surprise, it was not possible to pay by card, only cash, which  was not prepared for. Well going upstairs to the room my feeling was not better, dirty stairs and walls. The room itself looked very good and the bathroom renovated well. Yes, very nice. BUT the horrible smell. It probably smells of dirt or wet or something and they try hardly to cover it by artificial something. I could not find the source, unfortunately. The strong smell  caused me a bad breathing problem in the night. But the worst were the pillows made of feather. I am surprised anybody still uses them. i asked for the change as my son is allergic. There was no problem to get a changed one, but it did not look clean at all. Well, next time I will stay somewhere else. Breakfast for perfect.

Bellow expectations

We went to this boarding house that was recommended by the conference site where my husband attended. But the boarding house is bad in every way: it's filthy, dirty, the girls at the front desk don't speak much English, and one of them was also rude. They demand early payment so they can't change it. A mattress was broken and the mattresses were missing on the mattress that despite requests they never put on or remodeled the room that was already poorly clean the first day. Bad breakfast.

I'm having a nightmare.

I have to say that my experience was overall very good. Although we stayed on very hot days back in August the staff was very nice and provided us with a fan so the hot weather was not a problem ever since. Room was very spacious and tidy. Breakfast was tasty, in the form of buffet

Pleasant experience

the room we got it was terrible. it was not supposed to be like this. Imagine i had to stay there 4 nights! PLEASE look for another hotel. Dont book here and the manager or the owner was not very polite. 
the room was dirty and very old. it s near the road and on the first floor. this was the first time i got such a terrible room. The waitress and reception were nice.
The breakfast was ok,  
Actually i wanna rate ZERO for this hotel. My holidays at this hotel. it was suck. i jsut dont want u guys see like i ve seen.

Got the wrong room,was not the room that we booked

The guesthouse is located in the old town. The spacious hall next to the reception is particularly attractive. So you can sleep peacefully because the car is safe. The breakfast buffet was very refreshing, in addition, the temperature of the air is reduced positively by many fans. The best thing about this guesthouse is that there are totally safe parking spaces behind a grille to be opened with a chip, this is really a special thing with employees in the old town. So you can sleep peacefully because the car is kept safe. The breakfast buffet was very varied. In the bathroom you can feel that the guests want to make the rooms very beautiful, but many of the photos taken on the shower are taken on the way to the bathroom.

Super good parking in the old town centre.

Stayed here during the IIHF World championships. It was all we could find at a “cheaper” price. All prices were inflated due to the tournament and we would not have paid the price we did for staying here ordinarily. Saying that, the positives were: the location was perfect and unlike other reviews we found the bed very comfortable and the room was very spacious. Although some staff members were friendlier than others. The negatives: overall presentation- the reception/bar and dining areas weren’t great at all, and the furniture in the rooms was all very tired. The breakfast was also a very basic continental selection. Having to hold the shower head yourself as there was no holder also was less than ideal. Would find elsewhere to stay if returning.

I suggest you avoid this place. Zero out of 5.
We had stayed here a few years previously and, although it was basic, I recalled it was clean and relatively comfortable so worth another visit. I booked here again (well in advance) and myself, the good lady and our 11 year old daughter arrived at 8.15pm after a full day’s travelling looking forward to laying down our very tired heads. We hoped for a quick check-in and then off to sleep as we had a coach to catch at 5am the next morning.
On arrival the receptionist (with assistant in attendance) told us the card machine wasn't working. We only had €30. She couldn't advise us where the nearest ATM was. Not a good start at all. We left our bags and wandered off to find an ATM. We returned 15 minutes later and paid for our room. We hauled our bags up the stairs and along the corridor to our room.
On opening the door there was a pile of folded bedding on the floor. The bathroom door was open and a pile of used towels lay on the bathroom floor. The bedroom contained a sofa and a double bed without covers on the duvets or pillow. There were three of us.
I returned to reception and explained what we’d found to the receptionist. She then proceeded to call the manager on the phone followed by a heated discussion with her assistant. She then asked me to show the assistant so I led her to the room. The assistant asked us to allow her 10 minutes to make up the room so we sat outside and she disappeared back in the direction of reception.
Five minutes the receptionist appeared. She explained that they had two other rooms we could use, It was 8.45 by this time and our patience was wearing thin. Our daughter was very tired and in tears. We hauled our bags down through reception to a ground floor room which she opened for us.
It quickly became apparent that this room hadn’t been cleaned either. Again, the bed was unmade and one pillow case contained stains from the previous occupant. By now the apologetic receptionist had run out of ideas and I had seen enough. Trying to stay calm, I explained that if they couldn’t provide us with a room, please could they return our money and help us book an alternative nearby hotel. So she disappeared to call the manager. A couple of minutes later she reappeared, apologised again and handed over the money we’d paid. Despite repeating my pleas for help, no offer was forthcoming.
We left at 9pm out on to the dark streets of Kosice, tired and tearful, with nowhere to go but vowing never to return.

Zero out of Five

To be honest, I cannot really recommend this place. We arrived during the opening hours, but there was no one at the reception. Then one of the other guests locked us in, and we had to climb over a fence to get our keys, which were in the locker outside (nobody informed us about it before).
The room was rather odd smelling, and the breakfast really poor - we had to ask for a plate, mug, coffee, bread, milk, water... For one night, it was manageable, but we were happy to be leaving this unfriendly place.
