After long day trip 15+ hours we met our hotel where we wanted to stay. We came in, told our reservation and the receptionist told me i have fake ID and called police on me, then police confirmed my identitity but they still did NOT approve my stay. Its rly unacceptable.

The worst receptionist ever

Our visit was in July and we stayed in a two bedroom apartment. the accommodation was clean very spacious and comfortable. It had plenty natural light from a large window over looking an open area where we parked our car. Good equipped kitchenette for basic cooking.  A bit awkward  access the apartment. From the reception you have to go down and up again flight of steps passing through the laundry area. 

The food and service at the restaurant  was pleasant and reasonably priced. 

Very helpful staff at the reception. Special thanks to the receptionist who was duty on the 21st July Sunday morning. She was very helpful to advice places of interest and towns and villages to visit nearby.  Unfortunately we misplaced a note we had to mention her name specifically. Always with a beautiful smile. Her home town is Banska Bystrica.

Good location walks and country area

Very pleasant hotel , nice surrounding. Nature all around, so perfect for walks. Room was comfy, but during summer a missing air-conditioning may be a problem. Staff careful and attentive. Restauran also good, tasty meals.

So when we got our food, most of the group got great food - BUT - the Ribeye Steaks where to say the least horrible! When whe talked to the waiters they just said nothing was wrong, we would not get another steaks, without saying we are sorry or let’s check whats wrong - even when you could smell how bad the mest had gone. After 35 min of waiting we got a RAW slice of meat - not medium nor medium rare for that matter - and had to fight the staff who where trying to charge us for the rotten meat as well as the ,,OK” one.  Never ever again!

Rotten meat and horrible service

The hotel itself is good and the staff is friendly. The rooms are very nice and clean. But there is still something to my liking: - Spa, Restaurant and bar close at 22:00. I find this a little early. - For fear of arriving late at the hotel we cancelled the bookings for the massages. Finally we arrived on time and there were masseuses well on site and obviously not busy yet there was no way to get a massage....... A bit surprising to me, the spa (mixed) is completely nudist so it's better to know before you go.

Okay, what's up?

Stayed at a nearby hotel and visited the restaurant for our family dinner. Excellent staff, friendly and helpful. very attentive, but not OTT. Food and drinks all met expectations. We will return when visiting again for next skiing holiday. Well done to hotel and restaurant staff

This is for sure the best place to stay and to eat at Donovaly. You can select from local dishes, some specials and steaks. The hotel has nice rooms, but the highlight is the spa on the top floor with a great view.

Fried cheese on the pic - a local must have Slovak specialty. 

Best cousine on the hill

very pleasant accommodation in the center of Donovaly, excellent cuisine and wellness overlooking the surrounding mountains. Nice staff, spacious and clean room for reasonable price. I can only recommend the hotel.

Nice stay

It's a good hotel, everything is beautiful, clean, neat. The hotel has a very nice restaurant. The breakfast is not very rich and the variety is not very different. Another downside - the room was very hot and the temperature could not be adjusted, I had to sleep with the door open on the balcony.

Nice hotel.

The guest who does not travel to Donovaly in winter time - he must have been mediated by a travel agency - I cannot understand why the Slovak round trip took me there. The hotel is fine - yes; no pool - why not: skiing and swimming in winter! The whole area is exclusively for tourists; dinner in a mountain cabin [down the stairs, 3 minutes from the hotel] is rich and fat. Breakfast - ok; could be better.
