This guest house is located in a quiet place, close to the historical center. Quite walkable from the main railway station, though a steep road for last 700 meters or so. There is a trolleybus stop nearby.
The host is friendly and helpful with maps and explanations. Checking-in was fast and easy. Kitchen is available for guests, with a fridge, coffee, etc.
A drawback: the TV was not working in our room.

A nice place to stay in Bratislava

This was the first time we went to Slovakia and the first impression was created by this hotel and his stuff. The host "is sick of East Europeans" (is a quotation of him) - we just made a booking and mentioned we are 2 adults and 1 child - it was obvious we need 3 beds, even if there was a 3'rd bed in the room the host didn't want to give us bed sheets and he told us he doesn't care. The room was full of dust as you can see in the pictures, The door in the bathroom was dirty, through ventilation fan there was water pouring in and leaking on towels, after flushing the toilet many times there were things coming out I think from upper floors - disgusting! The host was rude and was not caring - event as I understood he was the owner. Please be careful!

Awful!

First of all watch when catching a taxi, we payed 10 euros from the train station but the owner of the pension said he would've taken us for half that!!

Like the other reviewers id warn that the hill is very steep so carrying luggage up there would be quite a struggle, but apart from that the location is very good, only 10-15 mins down to the centre of town. If your not the walking type there is a bus stop 3 mins down from the pension which will take you down.

If you head up the hill from the pension there's a nice and very cheap!, pizzeria place only 5 mins away.

The room itself was clean tidy and just what you'd expect for the price, wifi only 1 euro a day, the owner was extremely helpful an welcoming.

Overall a very good experience and would defiantly come back.


Great value, service, would defiantly stay again!!

We were more than happy with our stay. The room, bathroom, and well equipped shared kitcher we all clean and maintained. There was coffee in the kitchen, and a small shop on the corner a couple of blocks down. Easy to miss though. There's a decent and reasonable pizza type place a few blocks up. Better accomodation than the site picture might indicate to one and a good value.

The owner gave us a quick orientation on arrival. Wi-Fi one Euro a day.

It's well situated, about a fifteen minute walk from the old town, but don't try to bring your bags up as it is a bit of a climb. Watch some Taxi drivers, as we got one from the train station for 5 Euros, while another quoted 18. Lubos the owner, will transport you too or from the station for 5.

Spent two days in Bratislava and really enjoyed it. The Slovak Pub was really reasonable, with local food, beer, and wine.

Good value and well situated!

My husband and I enjoyed staying at Pension Vilo. The room was big enough for 2, the bathroom was ok and we were able to use the kitchen located just next door. We were travelling by car and the owner was nice enough to let us park the car inside his yard - was perfect because we were able to watch our car from the window. The only negative (if it could be called this way) is the narrow street just outside Pension Vilo. If you're not good in climbing "mountains" just take the trolleybus - is stopping 200m away from the B&B so you don't have to walk too much. Overall we had a great experience at Pension Vilo! Forgot to mention - the owner is a cool guy who doesn't speal much English but he speaks Croatian and understands any other Slavic language!

Wonderful B&B in the heart of Bratislava

The proprietor was very helpful in arranging our departure with luggage etc. Pension Vilo provided clean ,basic, comfortable accommodation.There is a small shop nearby which has fresh rolls/ bread available  for breakfast.Excellent .
     We particularly enjoyed meeting fellow travellers in the kitchen at breakfast time.
