One thing I dislike about this hostel is the scheduled A/C interruption. Unlike other hostels, the A/C only works at 9pm-9am. There was a time when I wanted to sleep for the day but could hardly do it due to heat inside the room. Also, the food always runs out fast even if the time for breakfast hasn't ended yet. Another thing is that they should strictly implement house rules for guests in terms of noise. There was one Indian who kept on talking loudly on the phone past midnight! It was so irritating! This was definitely the worst hostel experience that I've ever had. 

Needs Improvement

After reading reviews here I thought this might be ok. It's not.  3 bunk beds in a very small room - not even enough space to open a cabin bag.  Squeaky bunks.  No curtains so lots of light pollution.  Aircon on between 9pm and 9am. Towel is extra $2. Bathroom was overwhelmingly stinky,  dirty with black mold growing up the walls.  Reception is only open during certain hours with charges for service outside those hours. To their credit,  staff were friendly,  lift was fast and internet was good.  There is no rooftop sitting area.  Close to Little India.  Apx 800m from train.  Lots of good food near by.

Last resort.

Singapore Hostels are super expensive so Blue Jazz was one of the hostels that was closer in my price range. I wish the bathrooms were a bit cleaner and there really wasn't any place to meet people. The first night the zircon stopped working so I got switched into a different room and after that it was great. The staff was friendly but not super helpful with information about buses, the city and or attractions.

Affordable Hostel in Singapore

The hotel has got untidy bunk beds and open wires on top of bunk bed. The floor has big stains and your footwear will often create a problem when you walk on these stains. The girl at reception is rude and is not willing to entertain any kind of request instead argues to a big extent. The location of the hotel is good but ACs doesn't work during the day. 
It doesn't give you a vibe of a hostel at all. I would not recommend this hostel to anyone.

Untidy hotel with rude staff. No essence of hostel for backpackers

Bad experience first time at hostel. Manager was very rude and I have heard many complaints from other tourists. Place bit crammed with other room mates in and out all parts of the day and night. Basic breakfast and bit run down toilets /bath.

Keep away from this hostel

2 of us booked this hostel for 3 nights from Jan 19 to Jan 22 and expected it to be a good hostel due to many positive reviews. But then it turned out to be a nightmare. Firstly, the photos of the hostel shown on many websites are not exactly what we saw when we came. This hostel doesn't have any pool table or bar at all. 
It does have a good location and an elevator. But the rest of it is terrible.
1. Check-in: We arrived at 3pm. There was no one at the counter and we saw more than 5 people also waiting to be checked in. We finally got into our 16 beds female dorm at 4pm. The lady at the counter apologized for the lack of manpower.  
2. Room: We didn't expect the 16 beds dorm to be large but it was much smaller and messier than we thought. People's clothes, shoes, big luggage, small luggage, hair, socks, tissues blah blah lied everywhere on the floor. I had to move each thing aside to walk to my bed. 
3. Bed: Our beds were not comfy at all unlike what people said in the reviews. I felt like I could be sucked into it.
4. Refugee camp: When I was going around to look for the laundry room, I shockingly found out so many clothes (men's) were hanging everywhere in the exit staircases. They smelled so bad like they could have been there for days. That scene reminded me of a refugee camp. I finally found the laundry room in the basement but the iron didn't work and I heard mice running around. 
5. Smell: Because the room was so small and fully occupied with 16 people so you can imagine how badly the smell was. When I walked to other floors, I almost passed out because of the smell there was even worse. 
6. Shared bathroom: This is what made me decide to run away after the first night without no refund. Bathrooms and toilets were super dirty, way worse than the public toilets at the food centers. The floor was always wet and slippery with hairs and papers. The sinks were dirty with stains and things I didn't want to know. The toilet bowls always had poop in and on it. The bathroom was so small that my hanging dry clothes got wet after I took a shower. There was no shampoo and shower gel. 
7. Some creepy old guy (didn't look like hostel guest) entered the bathroom on the female floor at night. 
8. No slippers provided so I had to buy a pair in order to walk around the soaking wet bathroom area. 
There were other bad things but those were the worst ones. After 1 night stay, we decided to spend extra on another place so we wouldn't have to suffer there any longer. I have stayed at several hostels in Singapore before and they were all good to me EXCEPT for this one.  

Terrible! Had to run away after the 1st night.

The hostel isn't as described at all. The pictures shows a public room with a couch, pool table and a lot of space to hang out. But there ist anything like this. we ask them where this room is and they told us that the have done some renovation and the room doesn't exist anymore. the just made an other sleeping room. I was very disappointed because the pictures definitely show something else. The only thing what is left from lobby is a small room with a table on which every morning all the guests squeeze around for breakfast. 
The hostel isn't very clean at all and there are some very weird people there. In our room was this one guy who cam in every night at about midnight or later and was singing or started a discussion with someone. We found out this guy was a kind of stuff who but we don't know what his was doing. 
I realy regret the we had booked this hostel for 6 nights in advance. I will never do that again.

it isn't what it looks like!!!

The location is near the MRT but the bed and toilet wasn't really clean.. for the first night, i think someone changed my blanket and it smells so bad so the next day i ask the staff to change it, the staff is responsive and they immediately change it for me

I stayed at this hostel for 1 night. I was in 12 bed mixed dormitory. The room was okay for the price that i have paid. The issue was they said they will turn on ac after 9 pm but they didn’t. 
The receptionist was nice and friendly. She will be happy to assist you. 
My another issue was i booked from agoda, the price was $17.50 but on arrival they charged $19.50 which was ok for me but many other people were arguing at the reception. They were saying that they charged 10% service charge.
Anyway an okay experience. 

A okay hostel

The receptionist was nice enough to let me check in early before noon. The bed was clean and comfortable, with a reading lamp and two power outlets next to it. The elevator is great, it's not too common that a budget hostel would have one. Excellent location, just a short walk to City Square Mall/Farrer Park MRT station and Sheng Siong 24-hour grocery.

It was in the middle of a renovation during my stay (there's no bar area, pool table or couches in the lobby). Bathrooms weren't very well maintained, they seemed to be constantly dirty. One of the shower cubicles in the 3rd floor already had a broken lock, and not enough hooks to hang clothes and towels. Hand soap bottle was empty for 2 days straight. Chaotic pantry area, seems too far from the dining area which is beside reception. Intermittent wifi connectivity at times. They charge $1 per bag that you leave with them for storage after checkout, every other hotel/hostel I've stayed in offers this as a free service.
