Hostel Milkaza

My wife and I had a wonderful stay at the hostel Milkaza! Rooms are big, clean and provided with all the comforts someone could need to rest  peacefully after a day of  traveling (the hotel is strategically well located at the edge of the city, not far from the exit of the highway). 
The price is very affordable too: we wanted to stop just for one night but we ended staying three days, enjoying the cozy atmosphere and the hidden treasures Novi  Sad can offer. A special thanks to  Dragana and the rest of the staff for being so friendly and always very very helpful!

We had great time jn Milkaza. We where 9 days on training course. Everything was great, food is traditional Serbian food. There is also option menu for vegetarians, vegans or gluten free. Owners are great and will help you with organizing your trip or advice for what to visit.

Hotel Milka is more of a hostel than a hotel really, and I came with a group of friends during Exit Festival. The room was spacious and, despite lacking in any 'luxuries' was fine for me and my boyfriend. I didn't really mind that there were no maids as you wouldn't expect them in a hostel anyway. Easy to get in to town on the bus (which was the equivalent of about 50p a ride) or via taxis (during Exit there are always some in the car park waiting for you). The massive supermarket ever across the road was also really useful. 

The best thing about Hotel Milka is by far the staff - super friendly bunch of people and always enthusiastic no matter what time of day it was (there's always someone working at the 24hr bar to hang out with - even at 7am after a night at the festival)! Food and drink is insanely cheap (then again it's cheap everywhere in Novi Sad) and the rooftop was a great place to hang out. Views weren't anything to write home about but i guess you can't have everything!! If you're looking to meet fun-loving, awesome people though - both guests and staff - this is definitely the place to go. :)

We visited as a family during ExitFest and found the owners welcoming and the staff very helpful. The hotel is a minutes walk from the bus stop (5) to central Novi Sad and (3) to the fortress. During the festival buses are running every 10 minutes..No lift so a little difficult for me being low mobility. The roof terrace is on the fourth floor but was worth the effort for the hospitality, music and cheap Jelen. Our room had excellent air conditioning but basic facilities. Once Exit ended the roof closed but the petrol station across the road provided fab coffee and atmosphere..Overall a good visit but best during the festival.

Milkaza is a ghost hostel called Hostel Milkaza. There were no other clients except us. The hostel is not clean, light bulbs don't in the bathroom and broken light fixture in the bedroom (see picture), shower without a curtain. During our long stay no cleaner showed up for over a week. The rubbish bin was full and had to empty it ourselves. Had to ask for toilet paper. When it was finished we bought some. Our comfort zone has been tested many times by the hotel owner. Stern looks throughout our stay. Once two of us got shouted at by the hotel owner. This happened because a lady of Roma origin who works there was nice to some of us and gave them some soap. Obscene. We are paying customers and we got the worst stern looks ever in a so called hostel. Most of us had diarrhea due to inadequate food and below standard kitchen. Dirty. Outside the hostel there is a hairy black dog which is tied to a metal chain permanently. He was there in torrential rain. For days. This is how we were treated at this so called hostel, like they treat that black dog. Repulsive unfriendly staff (except a lady of Roma origin who was nice, she must be treated like the dog too), unhygienic and bad food are more than enough to tolerate. Pictures below of broken light fixture, dirt at the bathroom door and two single bed sheets on a double bed, plus dirty blanket.
