positive: 5-minute walk to the main street and to the river, surrounded by supermarkets, restaurants and bars, very friendly staff, clean, 24-hour reception, it’s always someone awake and taking care of everything, late check-in possible, no lockers in the room

negative: very noisy, no air conditioning, no ventilator, no proper mattress, walls are very thin so that you can hear your neighbours talking, only one shower for the whole hostel, two bathrooms but one can not be locked

uncomfortable beds, noisy but very central

Only 2 rooms with 4 beds and a small room, damp with a rickety bunkbed, no ladder to get up. During my stay there were just a number of young Arabs, sleeping during they da, noisy all night, cooking until the wee hours, smoking inside. You walk in and it feels like walking into a smoky bar. I left after 2 days and booked into another hostel. Also the lobby of the building smells of urin. The staff was supernice, and tried their best.

Not a hostel anylonger, just rooms

I think what makes this hostel is special are the people runnung it. Izmina, Marko, and Milan are all amazing! They're all very helpful and thoughtful, they'll give you coffee, tea, beer and food and even take you to the beach. They will really take care of you and make sure your experience in Belgrade is great! It's a simple hostel in an old building, but it is clean and well organized, very safe because they lock all the rooms all the time and encourage to put your valuables in the safe for you. For solo travellers, staying at this hostel will make you feel at ease. 

Great Hostel in Belgrade!

Loved my stay here! Great location, right across the street from the main railway station and a short walk into the center. The rooms and facilities are very clean and the staff are super friendly and helpful! It has a great atmosphere, would highly recommend!

Great stay, awesome staff!

Wonderful, helpful and fun staff, clean rooms and plenty of showers. Right next to the train station and has a terrific view. Free beer and laundry! Many of the best night life spots are hidden away so the pub crawls are very helpful.

Great hostel!

The hostel, which is very close to the bus terminal, is very safe in the city and all the staff is really nice and helped me a lot!! I was always greeted with a good reception and we had a lot of fun!

A beautiful environment.

I traveled to Belgrade for a photography job and the Downtown Hostel was a small family for my three days there. Very clean rooms, super welcome, kindness and cordiality of the people responsible for making the best 5-star hotels envious. Not only for every problem I found someone who advised me and helped me with anything. They offered me coffee or tea whenever I wanted, they made me fall in love and know their sljivovica liquor. I met people with a big heart and willingness like Mr. Alija. I had trouble getting back on the road and the person responsible accompanied me to the station, more cordiality than that. I could talk about this hostel for hours and hours, but the only thing I would recommend is to go there at least one night and stay there.

A Paradise in Belgrade

The hostel is extremely affordable, has an excellent location (it's in front of the train and bus station) as well as very close to the pedestrian street. It's a quiet area, it's very safe and has supermarkets nearby.

The best option in Belgrade

On the one hand, the accommodation is really not the coolest. The furniture and plumbing are old, the room is not very fresh (although the clothes are clean). The hostel consists of two adjacent apartments on one of the upper floors of a residential building opposite the station. It is a little difficult to find the right approach. On the other hand: a great location (just opposite the railway station, near both bus stations and near the bus stops to the airport).

A double impression.

Great hostel in a central location, clean, cozy, and most of all affordable, rooms of the right size, a very cozy common room, friendly staff, available 24 hours a day, absolutely my first choice!
