Some reviews mention this place is out of town, it is next door to the Allure Caramel hotel which is about 3 times the cost for a night. I felt the location was fine as we don't mind walking. Belgrade is a great city to meander through and find hidden gems. The Danube hostel is actually only 1km from Skadarska, a cobble street lined with bars and traditional Serbian restaurants including Red Bar (#1 Tripadvisor bar for Belgrade) and leads through to Republic Square. The staff were helpful and offered us free tea and coffee while we waited for them to register us with the Serbian authorities (something we had concerns about on our first trip to Serbia) The twin room had a shared bathroom and shower rooms but did have a sink in the room. Comfortable beds despite the animal print sheets. we were left alone to our room but there was an office on the ground floor of the block which had spare toiletries etc as required. I would stay again when I visit Belgrade as the cost and value were more than adequate.
