Thanks to the owner, Robert, we had the best time in Saint Louis. The food was amazing, and as a south western French, he knows how to fill a plate!

We stayed in St. Louis for two weeks in January 2017. We stayed at another hotel, but the restaurant at the Hotel du Palais became one of our favorite places to eat, and we went every 2 or 3 days. My 20-year-old son is a bit picky about food but loved everything he ate there. The sandwiches are a great deal and the dinner dishes were fantastic. The owner and staff were unfailingly friendly, and the fare was like a Parisian bistro at an affordable price. Good coffee also. Highly recommended, has great character!

I stayed 15 days in the Hotel du plais,  the guy were very helpful and kind. The receptionist was also very welcome ladies and friendly,  sometimes there were some gentleman also very friendly. I was very all of them, even the guy who clean the rooms he was the man with a lot of experience. Works long time there.  I love those guys. I was very satisfied. Mr Ndao.

The hotel is in a beautiful part of the city, very central, but there's no heavy traffic around. I had a spacious room on the first floor, with a bathroom and a balcony for CFA 22000 / night which was quite a good deal. There are some bars in the street where you can get a breakfast and there are some good restaurants nearby too.

Best time in senegal

I stayed at Hotel du Palais  instead of Hotel de La Poste because it was slightly cheaper and because I like to give smaller, lesser-know hotels a chance, as oftentimes they are much better and a great deal for the price. Unfortunately, this wasn't the case in this instance. The interior of the hotel, as well as my room, was shabby. Worse yet, my room didn't get cleaned at all while I was there. Breakfast was good, and there was a night receptionist who was friendly and was patient with my broken French, but otherwise the staff was distant. I recommend that you splurge and stay at the historic Hotel de La Poste. I kicked myself for not doing so. I also kicked myself for touring Langue de Barbarie with Djiby Tourisme, whose owner I met in the hotel's restaurant. The tour was expensive for what it was and there was no English-speaking guide.

Centrally located but a bit shabby

Great location near to everything.
Room has high ceiling and AC
Staff were not very friendly or helpful, seemed like I was bothering them by talking to them. Most helpful guy was the bus boy at breakfast who helped me get a taxi when leaving.
Room was shabby, if you like French Colonial architecture you may think it is charming.
Towel I got was smelly had not been washed, getting a replacement took some time.
