Beautiful hotel with old world Spanish charm. So much African art and tropical plants.Moudou cooked a delicious breakfast with fresh squeezed juice and was available to help with any request I had.

The property was in an area “with the people “ as opposed to a tourist-like area. It was safe, I’m a man, and saw single white wymyn strolling at night ( not smart…) The food on the beach is boring and lacking choices. The staff tried to accommodate. I’ve already recommended the place to travelers I met that are heading to the island.

We wanted a quiet quaint place away from the crowds and this was it 

It’s a small lodge, located off the beaten track 
We chose the suite - Bedroom with study 
It has old style architecture, filled with arts pieces, sculptures, nice sofas and lounge areas to sit, read or to chill 

Thé breakfast was simple but sufficient 
Juices, eggs, bread, fruits, coffee and tea 

The guy managing the lodge was chatty, informative, helpful and quick. 

Worth the weekend stay and a repeat visit 

This wonderful house has all the charm of an island home with none of the hassles.  The bed was very comfortable, great bathroom lovely room with very tasteful African paintings and sculptures. Delicious food and hospitality.  The owners also have a great restaurant chez Thiou, not to be missed.  Truly a Home away from Home.  Ill be back

Nice B&B in the quiet centre of the village. Nice, comfortable, clean and spacious rooms. I had a nice, basic breakfast in the courtyard while talking to other travellers. I would like to come back  with my family the next time! The only slightly minor point was that you could here every noise in the courtyard in our room at ground level.

I spent only one night in this charming old house, but I can tell you it was quiet and restful. There is no air conditioning, but I was comfortable enough with a fan located near the foot of the bed. A second fan, on the ceiling, made too much noise to leave on during the night. The bed was equipped with mosquito netting. My private bathroom was very basic but had plenty of hot water. The enclosed courtyard inside the entrance door to the house is gorgeous and comfortable and a great place to relax or have breakfast. Overall, it's a lovely place and a nice difference from the more modern but less interesting accommodations on the mainland.

Large apartment, clean, fans, mosquito nets, great breakfast however we didn’t have an WiFi or hot water...which wasn’t too much of a problem when the weather is very hot.
Great value for money stay. Would definitely recommend staying there.

Rather than spending our last 2 nights in Sénégal in hectic Dakar we chose to hang out on the Ile de Gorée. A short ferry ride away and blissfully peaceful and atmospheric. Yes, some of the history of the island is dark but today it is now an oasis of beauty and calm 20 minutes from the center of Dakar. The Maison Augustin Ly is a fantastic place to spend the night. Our family had the 2 room suite with our own balcony and bathroom and it was perfect. Breakfast in the morning was the best we had in Sénégal with fresh fruit, crepes and juice. The staff was very helpful and responsive. I did not see the regular rooms on the ground floor but I can recommend the suite. The communal terrace is also a wonderful place to hang out.

Huge apartment

When Im arive nobody is there and need to call.
The room is big.
But every where i see dusty.
The bed is very high from the floor ( fortunately, I have long legs)
The bathroom isnt clean.
The breakfast is so realy basic.
In the room is not Wifi avaible.
And the owner haven't interest in his gast.
