Very enjoyable stay in a beautiful environment, well tended gardens full of colourful flowers. Staff were friendly and attentive. On the downside there were renovation works going on, resurfacing the paths and steps. Work started early in the morning so the experience was less restful than expected. This is the reason we could not rate the hotel higher. Other than that everything was good

We stayed at the Hotel Maya for one night as part of an excellent Casamance tour organised by Modou Barry’s tour company “Tour Gambia.” We had an A/C double room and found it very comfortable indeed, with a good firm bed and clean bathroom and hot showers. The food in the restaurant was also good and well presented. The hotel is also set in lush grounds that wind down to a long and, when we were there, totally deserted, beach. Idyllic.

This is an exotic hotel near the coastline. No crowds of people, seashore is almost empty and wild with white sand and many seashells. We had a cosy stay in this hotel. Rooms are basic, but we had an electricity and even hot water. There was a/c too, but we didn't used it.

I felt compelled to write for my first time on trip advisor about this hotel. Arrived last Friday, I had booked and paid on expedia. After driving up an almost impassable driveway was met by an employee who said that he had no clue about our booking. He did not know expedia and if was a travel agent, that they did not work with them. He said he would call his boss who was away on holiday in Paris. He then put me and my friend in a room, five minutes later he turfed us out of the room, saying it had been reserved even though the hotel was empty!! He then said we would have to pay, I said check with your boss in France first. During the first four hours of the stay there was no electricity, bed was filthy, restaurant closed, no food, drink, towel looked like it had been eaten by rats. After a horrible lunch he demanded the money off me, and started threatening me, that I was a liar! I decided that it was not really worth staying in this horrible resort, that it was best to pay the first night and leave immediately, as it would be better to be in a prison than this hotel, at least they have electricity and food. Expedia apologised and refunded my money, after calling the hotel, and finding that they like me could not make any sense of this place. To be avoided at all costs, and best to sleep on the beach, at least it is cleaner and cheaper

worst ever hotel and service avoid

Lovely hotel, great ambiance, large pool overlooking ocean, nice rooms, in a rich garden, French managed. 

A bit outside Cap Skirring and the strip of hotels, making it very private and secluded. Direct access to the beach.  Essentially it's as if you have your private pool and private beach.

Very friendly staff. Excellent food which you need to book a few hours in advance. Internet not very stable, but that was an issue related overall to Cap Skirring. 

Charming hotel, far from the maddening crowd

Big clean rooms, nice swimming pool with plenty of loungers, and garden.  small bar with slow service,  and restaurant, and access to the beach (usually empty apart from the odd cow wandering about).  
it's out of town and down a dirt track.  wifi is free, best service top end of the pool
