Don't believe the pictures that they use to advertise this "3-star resort", this place is a real dump.
Might sound harsh, but from the nearly fallen down cabins, only-cold water showers (which weren't mentioned, nor appreciated), pillow cases with holes in them (we won't mention the state of the mattress, blugh!)
 Black mould was present on the ceiling which seemed to be growing the longer we stayed, presumably due to condensation from the air conditioner.
Staff were pleasant enough, however, didn't provide satisfactory service as we weren't properly checked-in, seemed like they didn't have our booking (mind you, we pre-paid and had booked 2 months in advance to our stay).
 We weren't given fresh towels, nor was our room serviced throughout the duration of our 4-night stay, luckily, we brought our own towels from home so we were able to get by, however, for a "3-star resort" this really should be expected. In the end, we asked for towels and were luckily given some. We also had to ask for extra toilet, as only one roll had been provided for all of us.
 As for the, bar and restaurant, the dinner menu and food was average. However, breakfast-provided was beautiful and remains as our only highlight.
 On the 2nd day, we were told by a local of the extra activities (kayaking, fresh water pool, snorkel hire, etc.) that the "resort" had to offer, which we should have been told upon arrival.
 We pre-paid, so had little choice but to make the best of what we had, however, only managed to stay 3 out of 4 nights, before packing our bags and staying our final night at a true 3-star resort, 15 minutes down the road, which exceeded Bayview Resort by far.
 Overall, this was a really disappointing place to stay for $250NZD per/night.

Avoid at all costs

My Samoa trip - bucket list tick off . What can I say ? No stars for a start .  paid in advance and the host was a great communicator. Upon arrival at the “resort “ I was lost for words . What was paid for and what was expected was not what I was presented with . The photos were clearly photoshopped in harsh reality the “ resort “ was in need of much repairs and maintenance. Had I booked and paid for being a guest in private village home I could have understood but I hadn’t . The place is set in the lava fields which is a google map place of interest however no justice has been done .the lava formations were used as rubbish dumps, and Mother Nature pushes a few plants out . We were presented with the ocean front “suite “ the walk to it was questionable, the patio around it was unstable , the “ pool “ was non existent. I did not attempt to check the water in the “ bathroom “ as the frugal room where the bed was has a lot that I will leave unsaid . As for the food , we were presented a menu and told “ Sorry only 2 dishes are available- — a lot needs rectifying there including the lack of communication from the host and the way her team seeked me out at another establishment for The keys ( Of which I was entitled to hold ) needless to say we did not stay there and walked to find an alternative place to stay for our 2 weeks in savaii . I hope the host takes my honesty positively Bk

For my first ever holiday Bayview Resort is a fantastic place to visit, no TV no Radio no internet, but that is one of the experiences, without these things you can relax and enjoy your Holiday.

and great activities

The only reason anyone will have issues is if you go based on Photos which is why I'm not showing photos, but if you go to Samoa and stay at Bayview Resort go with an open mind because your surroundings tell you what to expect, and besides your on holiday enjoy your time at don't waste time complaining, and if you want activities Create your own, if you can't find any you like, make your experience your own, because that is what Samoa is all about, fun fun fun.

World's best hidden Secret

Just do your research before you go. The rooms need a lot of fixing up. The two rooms my family booked for 2 days, we didn't even stay for the first night. Doors wouldn't lock, looks like someone has already tried breaking into them, food was not what you expected to be when ordering, power went off when in the shower with soap in my eyes. It was so unsafe we quickly booked another resort and left that night and didn't ask for a refund. They need lifeguards for their water activities, which was also a worry. That water is deep for children. 

Bad experience

We stayed in unit 5 right beside the beach, with 2 boys 8+5. The room had a double and single bed, and 3 more single beds in the spacious attached fale. The rooms were basic but functional and had a small fridge. There wasn't much of a beach but we had access to the kayaks and it was great to be able to head out in the water and see the turtles popping their heads up. We also kayaked to explore the other side of the bay and around the side where we found some beachy spots. Wild pigs and piglets running around which were cute! The food at the resort is nice - the free breakfast included fruit, eggs+toast, coffee and a Samoan dish in the mornings. The staff came to get our dinner order at 5.30pm each evening. Some of the options weren't available, but the chicken stir fry was always a winner. The staff are lovely, friendly and helpful. We enjoyed our stay.

A unique stay

We booked a house for family with cooking facility. Rooms are tidy and cozy. There are kaya for fun in the lake behind. We saw some turtles swimming up and down to take breath, only part of head for they could not be closed.. The staff here is very friendly and would like to help as possible. Lava is one of its characteristic.  It is just 5 minutes walking distance to lava ruin site. It is one of visiting point in Savaii island. 

Cozy and friendly

Definitely loved my stay here. The staff were polite and very attentive, if we needed something they would promptly do so. Food was great, well worth the price in my opinion. Would definitely stay here again.

Wonderful

Nice hotel near the beach is the only thing that is good. Inexperience staff with minimum English. Not happy with the lack of responsibility taken when checking in. Need to update their policies re-check in.

Such lovely staff/family. Always made you feel welcome and comfortable. The traditional feeling of Samoa was evident without staying in a Faile. The best spot for relaxation, and to swim or kayaks with turtles. I'll cherish my time here, thanks to Anna and her family.

Beautiful and cosy

For starters, everywhere in Samoa you overpay accommodation for what it provides. As this is also true for Bayview, it still is way cheaper compared to other 'resorts' in the same area.That being said, you don't get what you pay for. The bungalows are old and not well maintained, don't try the cocktails at the bar or the restaurant. The 'beach' is not really a beach, just white sand in between the bungalows, the lava pool is not accessible and the bay isn't great for swimming. Breakfast was pretty good and the views from the decks are nice, location is great as it is close to other nice beaches and Lava fields. I would come here again just to sleep and have breakfast as it was cheaper than alternatives but would actually prefer a fale on a nice beach compared to these bungalows.
