I gave this review a 4star overall, even though a few parts were rather in the 3star area. 1. Hotel Grounds Very lovely grounds consisting of various buildings, made to look historic matching the cities architecture. You have free parking inside the courtyard, and the area has a small playground, fountains and outdoor seating at the restaurant. 2. Animal Policy They allow animals (for an extra fee and also you need to confirm your animal with them). We travelled with our 2 small pet rabbits and we are very happy that this hotel was bunny friendly. 3. Hotel Room Now here we may have just been a bit unlucky. While the room was fairly ok and clean, there were a few minuses: - Our room was in the basement with windows without any view, light coming only from the top. - The fixture in the bathroom was broken, so you could not hang up the showerhead comfortably to shower hands-free - and now the worst: I think because we were in the basement, the sewage water (sink, shower and toilet) needed to be pumped up, so when you had the water on, every 10 seconds or so you would hear a loud noise (day and night) pumping the water up. We just spent 2 nights there which was ok, but if we would have been there for longer, I would have tried to ask for a room-change (as this was getting really annoying). 4. Breakfast Quite good selection, but basic. Some cold cuts (cheese and sausage), vegetables, warm sausages, eggs, grechka and/or porridge, some bakery items, fruits, bread, condiments, tea, coffee, water, compote/juices. 5. Restaurant We did not try the restaurant (located where breakfast is served), but the selection on the menu looked decent. The only thing is I tried to purchase a cocktail to take to the room and I was served in a plastic cup (policy) and I had to ask for ice, then got 3 pieces (counted). Also wine by the glass only offers sweet/semi-sweet options, no dry wine. 6. Location Very good if you want to walk on the riverbank and visit historic parts of the city. You can also walk in 15-20 min. to the city center. 5. Overall Service In general friendly and nice, accommodating.
