Vyisokiy Bereg Hotel

We stayed here in June 2013. When we arrived, we were upgraded to a larger room. It was like in a villa: Our friends stayed in one room, we the other and we shared a common living room/open area which had a staircase leading to upstairs rooms which I assume had the same floor plan. The rooms were large and comfortable. The room had a small alcove/sitting room area where my daughter's cot was set up. The rooms overlooked one of the swimming pools and the River Don which had amazing ships passing by all day long. (The River Don connects the Sea of Azov with some major port). The views were beautiful! We had wonderful drink service by the pool. Our first night there we had a large group of about 12 of us and had a wonderful dinner-expensive, but the food was very good and the service was great. We also enjoyed the large buffet breakfast every day. I loved walking on the grounds by the small ponds which had lots of frogs in them. There was a sauna room where you could reserve (and pay) for your time. We were going to do that one day but the sun came out and we stayed by the pool. There are at least two pools there.There was internet service in a small section of the dining room that was free to guests. The staff was very helpful and very friendly, though not all spoke English. The staff was also very helpful answering my many pre-trip emails! I loved this hotel and even asked tripadvisor to add it since it wasn't even listed on tripadvisor when I went to write a review about it. The one drawback to it is that it is on the other side of the river from downtown Rostov-On-Don, about a twenty minute cab ride. (The hotel will call cabs for you). But, if you are looking for a vacation-type hotel in Rostov-on-Don, this is it!
