Let's face it, there's not much choice in a coal mining town like Kemerovo and all the other hotels are Soviet era dumps, so one goes there with very low expectations. This place surpassed ALL expectations. The check in was fast and friendly and the ladies there spoke excellent English. The room (business room) was large enough and nicely equipped. Bed was comfortable, bathroom large and spotlessly clean. Two problems only. Like most Russian hotels - even 5 star - the place is horrendously over heated, so you must regulate by opening the window and using pillows to get the opening the right amount to offset the terrible heat. The other problem was the internet. It was good and fast on the first day and totally out in the whole hotel on the 2nd day. Staff were unable to fix it. The best feature of this hotel is the dining. All of us in my group found every aspect of every meal delicious, well prepared, properly cooked, etc. The dining room service was good as well, despite the language barrier, everything was well looked after. I'll stay here every future visit to Kemerovo.
