The district is very run down and semi industrial - but so is most of Makhachikala. The hotel itself has a gorgeous lounge and excellent restaurant with fabulous menu. The staff are sweet The rooms are good, and we had a fridge and electric kettle, so we made ourselves lots of tea and kept fruit in the fridge. Everything is let down by the shower pan which is nothing more than a line of silicon on the floor. The water goes everywhere and makes a complete mess. We had to use our towels to wall in the water. The price for us was very cheap. WE would go there again but we would ask that we had a bathroom with a shower that did not pill water on the whole bathroom floor.
