Very nice place! We definitely want to return there. Kind and very friendly staff. Real smiles, good mood for every day. Great territory planning, landscape and location of all facilities in the walking distance. Nice place in the heart of the Russian woods near the Volga shores. Excellent SPA treatment with reasonable pricing. First-class equipment and materials, perfect specialists employed. Spacious, clean, warm and safe indoor swimming pool, one of the best we have ever seen. Indoor pool is free for all hotel guests! Nice room (especially "Romantic" and "Elegance" suites in the main building), very cool design (perfect mix of traditions and modern equipment), comfy and convenient. Ideal for a honeymoon or just a romantic weekend:) You can book a separate cottage if you prefer. Also you can book a big "Villa" cottage for a big company of friends. Good housekeeping and room service. Our room was spotlessly clean. Big flatscreen TV with HDMI input, DVD player, free drinking water, electric kettle and a coffee maker in the room. Nice planning everywhere, free drinking water dispensers, nice stairs and perfect lighting. Lots of power outlets, good hot and cold running water, floor heating in the bathroom. Various choice of food in the restaurants (try all of them, and "Lesnoy" is definitely great!). Good buffet breakfast in the main restaurant. Fresh, delicious food. Some special offers and discounts, watch the website for a good deal. Lots of activities available on site - free bicycle rent, archery, forest hiking trails, ball games, outdoor summer pool, barbecue and bonfire sites, library, cinema, outdoor sportsground and children playgrounds, small zoo with lovely furry animals :) In winter you can enjoy skiing and skating all around, ice rink and sledding :) Also you can ask for a husky dog sled ride Additional services available on demand - including horseriding, fishing in the great Volga river, rowboat rentals and many others. Quick and seamless check-in, very fast and easy. Convenient payment system where you don't need to pay each time, just ask to charge your room number at any facility - and pay at the main reception desk at any time you want. You can order a shuttle transfer service (taxi, minivan or even a full-featured bus) if you need it. Good public WiFi with strong signal. Loyalty programme for a frequent guests, sign up for a free club membership at the front desk. Contra: Room rates changing a lot during the state holidays, long weekends, during the high demand season, etc. Watch the website for the current rates and possible special offers, it can be cheaper on other dates. Hotel is located around 30km south-east of Kostroma city. There is no regular public transport, but you can catch a taxi (very cheap) or ask for a hotel shuttle transfer service when booking. If you want to get there by car, be careful when driving as the road quality is very poor sometimes. Road signs everywhere, so you won't miss the turn :) Not very good dinner in the main restaurant. It is actually a buffet-style meal available only from 13.00 till 15.00, very similar to the breakfast, but usually paid separately (if not included in the package). I think it is better to go later and order something a la carte. Or go to another restaraunt. It can be cold in the main restaurant in the summer evening - the air conditioner there is very powerful, it really blows, ask for a warm plaid blanket if needed because they can't turn it off or reduce a bit. It can be noisy in the main building rooms, wooden walls not so soundproof. Bed mattress can be slightly better, this is specially important for suites. There is no bathtub in the suites, only shower. You can go to the SPA center for a wonderful whirlpool bath instead. No elevator in the main building - if this is important for you.
