Hotel Gostinitsa Georgievskaya

I'm using this hotel for my business trips. This is no star, small hotel, you could say, a family one, although I do not recommend it for family trips. It is in the centre of Kaluga. Just around the corner, you have supermarkets, and good restaurants, and 5 minutes walk, a galleria. Sure, the surrounding looks very bad, but this kind of views, you will get almost every where in Kaluga, so, not so much as a deal. Staff is very friendly, and very helpful. Maybe this all is because I'm returning guest. You will get there laundry service, pressing, sometimes the staff did it for me in 5 minutes, once I needed in the morning, without any additional charge. I just once have had a breakfast there, and it was good and tasty, but nothing special. You have to order it, and no choice available. Eggs, sausages, some cheese, bread and that's it. If you like a breakfast, I will recomend to visit a restaurant just 100 meters away maybe, called "8 cups" ("8 tshashek"). The food there is great, is open 24 hrs, service is fast, and it's not so expensive. They have also a restaurant in the hotel, with nice food, and you can order to your room, but only till 10pm I think. The rooms are clean, and very nice (well, depends). Every room is equipped and arranged differently. After they installed AC, it is also very good environment, since before, it was mostly very, very hot. I think every room have fridge, TV, telephone, hair dryer and internet connection access. This one, although, works various: sometimes was very bad, but lately was very fast. Some of the rooms are equipped with glasses, tellers, and cutlery. Now, if you are a light sleeper, and you intend to open a window during the night, it might be tricky for you. On the other side of the street is a club, which makes this area very noisy, specially on weekends. The restaurant in the hotel does the work as well. Specially when they have some events: family gatherings, or weddings.
