Moskva Hotel

Situated opposite Kaliningrad Zoo, this imposing hotel front with 1 small front door to enter, opens up to an impressive reception and lounge with its own security on duty too. Easy check-in even with the limited English language. This wasn't original built as a hotel but you can tell the building holds much history having been built by Germans in the 1930s. The 1980 & 90s throwbacks start in the reception with the receptionist photocopying all my documents using a very dated photocopier which takes an eternity to warm up. It is experience just watching how much technology has moved on in most parts of Europe. Onto the rooms, where single rooms are available at a cheaper price (and so they should be!) where the decor remains outdated. However, the rooms are spotlessly clean and I found the decor of the rooms to be quite charming. I would definitely stay again if I was to return to the get city of Kaliningrad.
