Casa Sibiana

Sulina

Sulina is a magic place. With the best beach which  I ver saw. With wild horses, pelicans, Sulina is the only city in Danube Delta . Starting with this words you must trust me that the accomodation is not the  most important thing. Casa Sibiana is a very good place where to stay. Large rooms. good matress, Good food also. Not very variate, but good.  Very immportant fo Casa Sibiana is location. Only 1,5km for the beach (are not hotels on the beach on Sulina) and 750m for the center of th city. So you dont have to do to much effort for any interesting location.  Staff is nice, they do their best. Dont expect to be at the same standard with the staff from the other destinations in the world. here is Danube Delta and the standards are different. Is the end and the start of the Eurpean Union. Also for the Danube. By the way I saw a lot of cruises coming from Germany there.

We can't understand the meaning of the stars, is it because one stars when going there? It's dirty, the responsible unpleasant, employs minors in the restaurant, total: poor quality-price ratio and total lack of self-criticism.

A quite place and clean rooms. The manager recommends very nice trips.
It deppends on what you wish for this holiday, I mean that it's not luxury but if you come visit Delta you don't stay inside the room for a long time. People are very kind and always there to serve you, to solve different situations and to give you good suggestions. Nice and quite terrase outside. I recommend this place! 

Very nice

The hotel is pretty big compared to competition and one of the closest to the beach. You can do some fishing right across the street, although with little success due to number of boats going in and out.
Service is minimum, during an entire week we only had towels changed and new toilet paper. No lift and little help  was offered to carry the luggage.
The rooms are large enough, some with balcony, which I recommend. One of the mattresses was extremely uncomfortable, lumpy. A good addition was a small fridge, but the downside was the big noise it did during the night (so we simply switched it off), together with something I assumed was a big AC unit we manage to hear through the walls.
Personnel is obliging and nice. Food on the other hand is absolutely horrendous, they desperately need a new cook. Fish was dry, pancakes were so thin you could see through it and garlic sauce diluted. 
Although they promote tours in the Delta, when asking they just said we can find boats in the town riverfront. 
Last but not least, prices per room they charge on Booking.com are almost double then what they charge if booking directly with the manager, who replied about the booking site commission. My opinion is they simply want to take advantage of foreign travelers.

Reasonable to stay in, but don't eat there

Long story short 
We went to stay at the CASA SIBIANA in SULINA - ROMANIA 
2 kids and 5adults
- poor service ( no pillow in the rooms, bugs all over the place and SPIDERS IN ALL OF THE ROOMS, no towels, in some rooms no hot water ) 
- in the restaurant the fish is bad and most of the dishes ar used from one client to another with no cleaning. Bat meat and serving leftover food. ( my sister and my mom got sick as well they bring bad eggs to my 6year old )
-dirty toilets in the restaurant dont recomand to use it 
- dont wanna  go there anymore . We called the police on our last day becouse they would refuze to give us the invoice.

DO NOT GO TO STAY OR EAT THERE

The hotel is well located, 15-20 min walking to the beach and 5 min walking to the town marina. The location it is very quiet.
The rooms are OK, clean, however over rated - 3 stars would be definitely more appropriate than 4!
Service it's good, the waiters are nice and also speaking English.
The restaurant is lacking a good chef! The food it's not bad, but could be better.

One needs to be aware that reservations (even if made by booking.com) in this hotel are only guarantied if prepayment by bank transfer is received and confirmed prior to arrival. We had a confirmation by e-mail from the hotel manager, and though no room for the last day.
Nice waterfront location at the edge of the small town of Sulina. Within 10 min walk to the waterfront promenade and 15 min by foot away from the lovely sandy beach. We enjoyed swimming in the sea, because the water there is only very little salty, as the Danube mixes up with the Black Sea. Public busses and on demand taxis are also available for even short rides.
The 2 pools are really tiny and we didn't feel it was worth going in, but if one doesn't mind water plants, it is nice swimming in the Danube just in front of the hotel. 
We had a hotel room at the rear with the view onto a concrete building (ask for front room with Danube view). There was air conditioned in the room, but not in the rest of the hotel. Furniture was somehow run down and old fashioned, with an old carpet on the floor, but clean. However, the bathroom was clean and modern. Allover we found the hotel doesn't deserve 4 stars, and it was overpriced for what it offers. 
We found it very handy that different excursions into the Danube Delta and to the Letea forest could be arranged through the hotel staff. Also, one can book your private 2.5h return trip to Tulcea for a reasonable price.
The restaurant has no air conditioned with furniture which looks oldish, table cloths were not always clean, food was average and didn't taste nor look always fresh.
