A nightmare. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!
We arrived at the hostel and we find nobody at the reception and we didn't know we had to enter with the self check-in (it's not written anywhere on the main page of the hostel).
For the payment they wanted us to come back at the hostel at 8:00 p.m. and it was not as advertised on the page of Agoda (the check is supposed to be between 16:00 and 23:00 so we could do it anytime and not only at 20:00). It was a problem for us since we had a reservation at the restaurant.
After that the lady texted me telling me to be at the hostel for the payment but we already have left for lunch and she kept being rude.
Tha lady on the phone kept sending me rude messages telling that she was not supposed to work ""only"" for us and that we had to compromise for the time. We did  not and at the end, after complaining, we had the chance to pay our room when we came back in the evening. She kept sending me messages such as "ended the year very well and I don't want to hang out with you." and "everyone worked only for you, no" 
In addition to that the hostel was basically empty (a bit scary) and there was no surveillance. The room was dirty, full of dust, hairs and cobwebs. In the toilet there was not toilet paper at all and we had to wait until the evening to get it.
The staff used a very primitive and rude language. It was really uncomfortable.
In my opinion they should close the hostel since they hate having customers!
I don't recommend this place at all!

AVOID AT ALL COSTS!

Burg Hostel is a classic hostel in the city center of Sighisoara. The people who work there are very sweet. The location is in the historical center of the city. The beds where nice and the room was very good. It is a very good place to go when you are in this cute city.

Nice hostel

Great central location in the old city, it has a spacious kitchen downstairs, a large dining area, decent warm rooms and friendly staff. All in all I've no complains considering the low price and would recommend this place.

No complaints

Even though we were in a hurry, the hosts were very nice and cooperative! The place itself was clean. We were on the top floor, so we also had a nice view. Quite comfortable, a lot of wooden work which I loved very much! There was a restaurant/bar downstairs and we also had dinner there. The food was good. The hostel is in a convenient place in the city so I loved that!

Convenient location, welcoming hosts!

Good place in the old city. Really spacious dorm with very cozy beds and a bathroom en-suite, for a great price. Atmosphere is non-existent, but it's off-season, so not many people there in general; staff are all very, very pleasant but not super engaged, which was fine for me. Flawless WiFi, including in the basement. I don't know if there are any other hostels in the old city, but if you're on a budget, definitely recommend this one.

Very nice hostel

The good side of this hostil is its perfect location and friendly and helpful staff. Big rooms and our had a nice huge beds(1.5m). In the othet side, the bathroom was not really clean and the kitchen had almost no utensils or dishware

Good location and poor facilities

I totally loved my stay here.  The hostel is right in the middle of the citadel so you can get out and explore very easily.  I stayed in the four bed dorm room. Try and get the lower bunks if you can - double bed! nice.  the shower and lavatory was clean as was the room itself.  I am particularly grateful to Anka the very pleasant lady who works at reception. she was very kind and helped me with my onward travel. she's also very funny and good to talk to! another big plus is the fact that there is a self service cooking area which was good for me as i bought some provisions from lidl and prepared my own food. Can completely recommend this excellent hostel.

Very central, convenient and friendly hostel....

The Hostel is surrounded by the main attractions. Cozy and wooden interior design.
But unfortunatly the Staff is really unfriendly and not motivated at all. They are not keen to give you any advices or talk to you in a respectfull way.

Cute Hostel, very unfriendly Staff

It was perfect from the beginning to the end. The people from the reception were very kind and cheerful all the time, and very helpful about everything in the city. The location is perfect, nearby a lot of cool places to visit. The bedroom was clean and very big.

Kind and Amazing

Room for hostel. Cheaper room..well. when I arrived it stunk. The bathroom needed cleaning and shower curtain smelled bad. They had cleaner come in and clean. Beds sag in middle. I was put in another room which was nice. But cleaner never came in 4days. We had to go find her to get toliet paper. Waste basket was over flowing. Kitchen are was cleaned once in my visit. My food was thrown away from fridge.  BUT..I love the little town. Hostel is in the citadel. Lovely location. Other rooms were nicer...they just didn't care to put much attention to the hostel cheaper room.  I would stay again ..because as for cheaper room they have the market and the village is so wonderful..
