I chose this hotel on booking. excellent location close to the center and other sights. large, spacious rooms in vintage style and clean. varied breakfast. I recommend with confidence.very pleasant staff.

Nice place

I stayed for 2 nights on 1st floor. Unfortunatelly apart of location which is very good very hard to find something positive to comment. Beds are very very uncomfortable which should be nr 1 priority for the hotel to change. No amenities in the room, curtains not closing properly which allowed the street light to come in to the room. Leaflet in the room which present there is a chinese restaurant where you can have dinner. Going down for dinner to find out there is no restaurant for dinner. Breakfast very poor and cleanliness far away to be close to what a guest is waiting. To resume yes it's a 3 stars but there are things which can be improved with no investment. Staff polite and nice but needs to be trained in customer service.

Never again

The room looks and smells horrible. Thankfully I arrived late in the night so there were not so many hours in that old prison. Filthy, smelly, unhygienic even during the COVID 19 pandemic. Omg, get me out of here. 

Horrible room

Old furniture. Very poor breakfast. There was basically nothing to eat other than some eggs. The room had several broken items. No windows could be opened. Beds are uncomfortable. Wouldn't stay here unless there's no other choice.

Not recommended

It's 4:20 in the morning, sitting outside the room on the porch to cool off, because its freaking boiling in there. Asked for the remote control of the AC at the front desk, because there is none in the room, and the guy says, oh... we dont have it, it's probably stolen... Fml, what am I supposed to do now, sit here til 7am? Very unprofessional...

I opted for this hotel after reading other reviews.  The hotel is located at the northern corner of the central park and within easy walking distance of sights, restaurants, and bars.  The hotel and rooms are styled on a bygone era- perhaps more so unintentionally than design, in that I believe the fixtures and fittings are authentic than pastiche.  Parking is at a premium in and around the hotel and on-street parking is by way of metering.  The hotel however has a number of reserved and free parking spots at the rear of the premises and a kindly word with the manager enabled us to acquire one such bay for the duration of our three day stay.  Our deal included breakfast and I can say that this fare was more than adequate- cereal, yogurt, croissant, juice and coffee; also available was scrambled egg and a selection of ham and cheese, and bread for toasting.  Hotel staff speak English and all were professional and approachable.  Our bedroom was situated at the front of the hotel above the entrance area- no issues with noise from traffic, but perhaps this might be different at weekends (our stay was Monday to Wednesday).  The twin beds that were comfortable; the television had a variety of channels- some English speaking; and the bathroom was adequate- however the extractor fan did not work (the ceiling would indicate a previous leak from above and perhaps the reason for this).  The shower curtain did not quite fit around the tray and so some water ended up on the floor.  I would suggest guests bring their own toiletries as the hotel only supplied a small bar of soap and a small bottle of shampoo.  The in-room fridge contained two bottles of water- so don't be expecting a well stocked minibar (there is however a cooler in the foyer with a variety of soft and alcoholic drinks that I assume may be purchased).  As stated the hotel is centrally located and there is a lovely park across the street and eateries and shops at hand.  We enjoyed our stay at the Hotel Astoria and would likely consider staying here again should we return to Satu Mare.

In the centre of things

I do stay here every time when I come in SATU MARE. It is nearby of the city center and you have a lot of restaurants and stores to go. Rooms are very big and clean, and you have a great breakfast. I recommend this hotel!!

Very good hotel

We've visited this hotel twice and we were really happy .
The rooms were clean , nice and cozy . Staff was kind, breakfast is rich and good.
The only unsatisfactory thing was the price , which is quite high in my opinion.
