We were very pleased with the entire experience at the guesthouse: cleanliness, good taste, good food, welcoming people. Definitely worth it!
The place is very quiet, the air is clean and in the morning, when you open the window, you hear cows in the distance

Splendid

We stayed for one night with our children and we were very disapointed to find out at the arrival that a party will take place at the restaurant below our floor. It was a very loud party late in the night with unlikable music (manele).  We were on vacation in the area and we expected peace and quiet. Which there was none.
Also the food was cold and brougt to us long time after we ordered it. DO NOT STAY HERE!

Avoid

The location is placed near a forest, so it's really quiet and chill, and it also has a pool where you can relax.
The rooms are spacious and clean.
The food is delicious and fresh, it's made on the spot.
It is very close to the city, so you can also go sightseeing. There is also a museum right near the location which was the house of the family decades ago, before they were forced to sell.

Quiet & relaxing place to spend the weekend at

We had a relaxed weekend at Pensiunea Casa Cartianu. Very quiet place surrounded by trees. The rooms are quiet large and equipped withe everything you need.They have a restaurant where they cook very tasty food.
If you visit the pension in the summer, you can enjoy the swimming pool.
We felt really good and we will definitely come back  soon.

Relaxed weekend

Everything was great from the moment I arrived until I left.
The team was very nice, they served us on the sunbed. Very good and very cheap food.
The rooms are spacious and nice.
The pool is quite large (1.45 to 2.40 meters)

Lovely people, good good, nice rooms

Nice place, room big enough, good mattress and most importantly located in a quiet area.
It's better in the summer because they have a nice pool.
Breakfast is not good, it's not bad - usual defrosted and of the shelf from the supermarket, but very strange they limit the traveler to one and only one drink - a tea or a coffee. Strange...

One night business stay

We stayed at Casa Cartianu for two nights, it was a good choice! The hosts were nice and called us to check if we were in the right way. It is easy to get to on gmaps, good parking, ok rooms. 
 Very interesting the Oltenia-region cula-house/museum, next to the guest house. 
 Dinner is good, breakfast also, you can buy drinks also, had a good time! 

Just what we expected

The presentation is the same as the reality. That's true. 
Plus the special taste of freshly prepared food (missing from the presentation :) )
The pension is located between the ancestral house (built in 1760) and the house where the family lives now.
That seems to me like the care for everyone and everything is like for their own family. True again. 

Try to imagine this: I'm at the pool. On the lounge chair. Warm. Quiet (the music is stopped, as I asked). I'm listening to the conversation between a cow in the left yard and another one far away. I hear, from time to time, how flies fly. (Only on weekend is some more agitation. With limits.)

Dreamlike. Everything. 


The house, the food and the host were all very special.

This place is amazing! The rooms are spacious, the breakfast is good and the pool is big and clean. The girl at the reception desk was sweet and kind and they are overall just great hosts. I strongly recommend Casa Cartianu!!!

Great place with great people!

Unfortunately we planned our stop in Tg Jiu for only one night, but we'll surely return after having stayed in Casa Cartianu. 

Family running the place was very friendly and welcoming. Upon our late arrival (after 21), we were offered a plate of delicious home made apple pie. 

We chose the room on the top floor which had a roof window that was great for looking at the stars.

The pool next to the guesthouse is really large and clean and the green surroundings relaxing. 

For breakfast we had fresh milk, really tasty cheese, eggs and vegetables - all products of the family managing the guesthouse.

Be sure to plan a 30 minutes visit to the Cula Cartianu museum, right next to the guesthouse!
