We stayed one night in a roomfor 100lei and very enjoyed been in this pension. The hosts are very friendly and helpful, even they don't speak english. We communicated with hands and it worked without any problem..😊

Very friendly 

The rooms were clean. We had inside parking, in the yard. The garden was filled with flowers and had a lovely patio to sit down to. The place has a lot of kittens and is very close to the Deva castle and center. The hosts were very welcoming and guiding in where to go.

Beautiful garden and very kind host

This is the greatest place I've ever stayed in my Romania trip. Right after I checked in, I was dragged to the patio for the home made Tuica and brandy right away! The owner is very friendly and willing to show us his house and wine. When we ( me and other two guests) decided to do a BBQ dinner, he prepared for the BBQ grill for us and served with home made pickles......Very nice place and highly recommend

Fantastic place to stay in Deva

Travellers: Family with one small child <1 year old
Stayed: 1 night

Quiet location with a superb green garden where a grill awaits only the invitation to be used. From the room and balcony we could see the citadel (Superb at night!).
Located near a park , within a 5 min walk from the restaurant street, and also very close to the citadel. 
Rooms were clean, equipped with all needed. We have requested a dryer which was provided in 5 min, so no problems in that regards.

Totally recommend for family travelers which look for a place where they can feel at home.

A small minus: Location was bit hard to find (used Google Maps and Car GPS).

Short tips in travelling to Romania:
 - Internet: a Data card can be bought pretty much on every corner and the cost (10 Euro - 6GB, 15 euro - 11 GB) is a nice bargain 
 - If you are ca coffee enthusiast DO NOT expect coffee places on the RO Highway. We have stopped 4 times, with no luck and decided to just wait for the city (as it was morning, we barely could talk to each other until then:) )

Warm welcome, excellent location with a superb view of the citadel!

We have stayed here with 3 adults and 2 children below 10. We booked 2 x double room and had an extra bed (free of charge) to fit one child together with us on the same room.
 
The rooms with toilet and bath were decent and clean. No bad odors, fairly cool because of the many trees in the garden and adjacent buildings that give shadow. Although airco remains necessary during the daytime, and at night when there is no breeze. 

The bathroom of one of the rooms we had contained a modern shower with all kinds of functionalities. No bath.
The other bathroom was simple with a bath in which you can also shower. 
For Western European standards or American standards, the bath tub would likely be considered a little on the small side. I figure it was about 1,5 meters long and about 1 meter wide. It had a shower curtain. There was enough toilet paper present and two towels per person, plus a small towel to probably either wash with or stand on when stepping out of the bath/shower. They do not change the towels daily but the beds were neatly made up each morning as one would expect.

One room had a small balcony that was big enough still for a couple of people to sit and enjoy the view on the garden and city citadel. 

Those travelling with kids will like the idea that a big playground/park is situated only 100 meters from the hotel, without having to cross any busy roads. There is a lot of shadow in the park and there are sufficient benches for the parents to choose from in order to keep an eye on their playing kids. 

The citadel is probably only about 1km from the hotel, and after the park. The ride up to the citadel with the 'telecabine' is probably more of an attraction point than the citadel itself, as they are still busy modelling the citadel into something more visitable. 
We visited a castle in nearby Hunedoara that was really worth visiting.  "Castelul Corvinilor"

There are at least two restaurants near the hotel at walking distance. We only tried one of them for two nights and were very happy with the food and the service there. I don't remember the name of that restaurant but it was closest of the two to the hotel, at a corner, with both outside and inside seating possibilities.

The owners of the hotel are friendly people. 
But friendliness does not compensate for profesionality in my opinion.
I found the fact that we had to ask for the remote control of the airco a little customer unfriendly. Especially because we were only able to obtain the remote control by the end of the day when her husband would be present. Apparently the remote controls were not her responsability. 

Also the fact that we weren't able to choose our breakfast the second morning of our stay was a little disappointing and unprofessional. Instead of simply admitting they had forgotten to enquire us about what we wanted for breakfast, and correcting it, we received an unprofessional: 'you really want me to go back to the kitchen and make something else?' 

I guess that for people that enjoy the owner sitting down with them at breakfast and sharing details about their children and grand children it's ideal. For those of you reading these reviews that prefer professional service to go with the decent and clean rooms, you might want to take this into account.
