We were a large group of people (had 4 rooms) and stayed there for 4 nights around the winter holidays.
  
- Great price.  DoubleTree closer to center is something like 4x .. ?  Why pay that..
- You are still about 10-15 minutes walking from old city center, Piata Uniri.  Yes, walking back involves walking a good incline, maybe the equivalent of a 6 story building, so if you people with mobility issues in your group I would not recommend.
- in return for dealing with the great incline you are rewarded with awesome views of the city.  There is a main terrace available from the restaurant, but there are also terraces open to all guests on the the 2nd and and also on the 3rd floor.  
- Breakfast is extra and had no buffet when we were there.  Had no problem ordering eggs, or traditional cheese/salami plates, eggplant salad, etc.
- Lunch &  Dinner was quick.  Not a lot of food, but sufficient (in line with other romanian restaurants), it came out in about 25 minutes or less.  Did not think it was too expensive by US standards, maybe $US10-15 for the more expensive entrees ?
- Expresso machine in bar/reception area.
- ok shower (not too cramped as in some of other "budget" romanian pensions), some rooms had full tubs, some had larger shower stalls.  Water pressure.was ok.

- Be careful with GPS/ Waze route, which will have a tendency to route you through the small city streets if you need to go South.  You can avoid going through the small city streets if you approach from the highway #1 from the west.  You can take road #1 west to the A3 highway (Autostrada Transilvania.).

Good budget option, close to old town;  Would stay again

I stayed at the pension and had a meal for a few days ... and what I'm saying will try to emphasize only the reality. 
The accommodation envisions some small rooms, with very poor-quality furniture, and which has no connection with the location. 
So, from my point of view, the owners have to take a "small" step to get something special. 
Otherwise, the food is tasty ... just because I didn't understand why, wanting an omelet for lunch, they told me that it is impossible, because is just for breakfast ...Why?! Probably because that the owners and the staff does not understand that we may order anything and is better to make everything to be just ok…

The view is sensational ... but only so ...

I made an online reservation for a room at the hotel, booked it and recieved the confirmation by email. After 10 minutes someone from the hotel called me and told me that another person just reserved the room at the hotel and payed for the room cash at the hotel, and that i should look for another location and then hang up the phone. The staff was very unprofessional. I will also make a claim at the Consumer Protection regarding this booking.

Worst booking experience

This place really surprised me
We all ordered the steak with chanterelle mushrooms. The steak had also melted cheese on top and asparagus rapped in bacon.  Phenomenal taste. I do not agree with melted cheese on steak on a normal day....but the taste of the food made me over look the cheese.
The atmosphere was romantic, welcoming....the wine had a perfect taste....the view incredible....
Probably this is one of the places i will return too when i will be in Cluj again

Perfect experience

The view from the terrace is amazing, perfect view of the city. The staff ist friendly and the beds are very comfortable. I totally recommend it if you are visiting Cluj. You can also visit Cheile Turzii and Salina Turda, if you are arround.

Exceptional

Located up on Cetatuie hill, the pension has a beautiful panoramic view over the city. You can reach the location with the car or by foot if you don't mind a short hiking up on the hill starting from the central park. There is a restaurant and a small terace outside. The rooms are from a different era, everything looks old and used, they should be entirely renewed. Breakfast does not have many options and must be paid separately. I hope they will renovate the rooms to meet the great location. 

Panoramic view, old rooms, poor breakfast

Very friendly staff. We booked a large room but simple room. Wifi and parking are free.The Restaurant is not expensive.You can enjoy a terrific panoramic view of the city from the surroundings(Cetatuia Hill).
