Last snow of the season

Hotel located in the middle of nature, surrounded by the Bucegi mountains.
Very good services, kind and friendly staff.
The room is small but clean and nicely furnished.
The rooms have a balcony.
Good breakfast and dinner, could be more diversified.
The minibar in the room is free.
Very good spa area.
Free parking available for hotel guests.
There is also an ice rink open all year

Great stay!

We were accommodated at Hotel Peștera a few weeks ago and we were really impressed.  
-First of all, the girls at the reception who greeted us were very nice and welcoming and offered to help us whenever we needed something.  
-The restaurant staff was also very friendly, and the food was very good and came to us quickly after we ordered.  Breakfast and dinner are varied and very tasty. 
-The rooms are bright with a beautiful view, equipped with coffee machine, kettle, hair dryer, shampoo, body cream, etc. 
-The pool water was warm, perfect for kids.In the room I also found bathrobes and slippers for the pool.  
We will definitely be back!

Great People, great place

I booked and paid for two persons, half board, 2 nights. A situation occurred on the morning of the first day so I went alone. I asked to receive the lunches instead of the breakfasts and the dinners for which I paid and they got my money. They refused and invoked a stupid bureaucracy about the agency. Actually, I paid for something, they did not deliver and even refused to replace the delivery. So much about their flexibility and customer-orientation. They are keen to round up their income amid these covid times and make use of any situation to gain more and deliver less. They even asked me to pay for one drink, although they had my money for two breakfasts and two dinners!
Moreover, it is the second time when I receive a one-bed room instead of two-bed rooms. Well, they said all rooms had joint beds and that they could separate them - by 10 cm ! So do not go there with your boss / colleagues because you will sleep in the same bed. Only lovers accepted.

Money, not customer-oriented

We always come back with pleasure to this place for the area and the special view. For the location and staff I could give 5 stars but there are also things that have deteriorated since our visit last year (I stayed in the same room) for which I gave only 3 stars.

Although the current situation is not a happy one due to the restrictions caused by the pandemic, the staff tried to respect the rules and impose them on tourists. The temperature was reached on arrival for those accommodated and those who only came to eat at the restaurant were also checked and the other security measures were applied for breakfast or dinner. The hotel is well maintained and the rooms are clean. The staff is very friendly and strives to satisfy all requests, although this year we found among the waiters a few "imported" from other countries. You can pay with holiday vouchers.

But I must mention with regret some things that have deteriorated compared to last year: the sofa bed in the room could not be used by our daughter because it was visibly damaged and the first night was a torment for all of us. The maintenance man came and even photographed the frame of the sofa to show that it is damaged and needs to be repaired. Despite the goodwill of the staff who changed the sofa (with another from another room) it was not comfortable, probably too much use, being unbalanced and the mattress made a hole in the middle.

I think it would be necessary to re-evaluate the furniture in the rooms and replace it with new ones. I did not comment on the price per night but for the requested price the conditions must be good and you can rest because I did not get the room at a discount.

Also, although the bathroom should have had a heated floor, in the room I stayed in it did not work and the curtain was probably broken by a very hurried tourist. The room lacks a trash can, the only one being a small one with a flap in the bathroom. There is a coffee machine in the room.

The food served in the evening for dinner is average, without excelling. I could say that it is a little below last year's level. Lots of garlic, fried foods, sour cream, oil (the pilaf from the first night lay in a puddle of oil so I gave it up). The menu should be designed in such a way as to allow those who are on a diet or are vegetarians to eat. I only tested the à la carte menu so I can't give details.

And to end with good news, from August 15, the Pestera - Babele cable car operates again, which makes it easier to access from Busteni, through the Busteni-Babele cable car.

The 3 persons room is just for 2, because the sofa bed could not be used to sleep on it.
