Beautiful historic house set in 140 acres in a wooded valley with river running through it. Lovely atmosphere and very comfortable accommodation. Exclusive with only two bedrooms, my wife and I had the place to ourselves. Acres of gardens with small lakes, flowers (especially rhodedendrons) Some exotic wildfowl and peacocks. Breakfast continental with fresh bread, cakes coffee, cheese,ham, fruit, yoghurt etc. Lovely swimming pool with diving board and loungers. Essential to have a car and necessary to drive out for evening meals. Porto about 20 minutes drive. Good restaurant is Quinta Pedregal about 2 miles. The owner Eduardo and his wife, together with the manager Antonio were very helpful.
