213 reviewsThe location is amazing. You can literally experience Porto without leaving the apartment. The character and comfort of the apartment were great, and the balcony overlooking the Praça Ribeira. Communication and attention from hosts Christina and Filipe was quick, clear and so helpful, especially in getting transport from airport to a block away (traffic is not allowed in the praça). Getting in and leaving our bags for a few hours (we arrived earlier than anticipated) was a breeze. The queen-sized bed was very comfortable. There is an elevator straight to the room's front door which was very helpful. (But keep in mind there is no elevator up the streets!) Lack of air conditioning means leaving windows open on hot nights, which can be very noisy with all the activity in the Praça, especially on weekends. Tall people will find the shower a bit of a challenge. Aside from these minor quibbles, the one-bedroom apartment with its full-length balcony is an attraction in itself. We never tired of walking along the ribeira, up past the Bolsa palace along rua das flores. Miss Pavlova on the other side of Rua de São João (3 min) offers great breakfast items and fabulous pavlovas!
