We loved our stay at Quinta Do Canavial. We only got to stay for three nights but wished it could have been longer! We were greeted by the owner Maria on our arrival and were given a welcome plate of local liqueur, the famous Sao Jorge cheese, bread and melon. It was lovely to be able to relax on the little terrace overlooking the bay eating local food before setting out to explore! The room was comfortable and clean, and we enjoyed the breakfast each morning. We also made use of the swimming pool on several occasions. There was also a book in our room written by our hosts giving the details of hikes/walks around the island. Maria specifically recommended one to us which we did and it was stunning - she knows what she is talking about! The only slight negative was that it is on the outskirts of town, however it is only a 15 minute walk to the centre. We loved our stay here and would definitely recommend to others!
