Residencial Dona Maria Parreirinha

We picked this place as we were arriving by train and the location is perfect, literally one row behind and higher than the end of the station. Are arrival was earlier than official check in but we're greeted well and given our room. The whole place is very clean and we had clean daily towels. Our room was in the rear overlooking the courtyard and view up towards the Moorish fort. I don't think that any rooms in the property would be disturbed by train noise as the railway ends at this station so only slow moving trains arrive and depart and there is another row of properties between this property and the station. The price we paid was very reasonable and we had no complaints. Breakfast was not included but we would advise going to the cafe opposite the main station building which is where all the locals go and we had great coffee, pastries etc for 2 of us for €6 nothing was more than a €1 and the staff are very helpful (free wifi too) Our only criticism would be the weather and that was not in anyone's control as it was a bit stormy and the wind howled along the corridors rattling the doors and windows a bit.
