I joined my friends and their two young children for a week. We found the accomodation great, very clean, well thought out, very comfortable and everything we needed in the kitchen and BBQ area. (we even managed to adopt the faithful house Dog) The location is quiet and rural, but close to some great beaches and all the interesting things to see - Furnas, Nordeste etc. It's only 15 mins from Ponta Delgada and there is a big supermarket down the road in Ribeira Grande (a kilo of huge king prawns for 6 euros - straight on the BBQ! :-) The owner Carlos is very friendly and welcoming and offers some great insight into Azorean life and recommendations of places to visit. If you like nature, quiet, rugged beaches and eating fish - this is the place for you. There isn't a huge tourist scene, which is very refreshing! I can't wait to explore the other islands! Enjoy!
