S. Jose Algarve Hostel

I stayed two nights during covid time. The space is huge, big kitchen, big living room and an outside terrace. All the place is super clean and with adorable decoration:plants, shells, drawings that other guests left and books in different languages. I stayed in a dorm that only had 6 beds and the owner is only renting 3 of them due to the pandemic which only shows how hygienic the place is. There was a balcony and a private bathroom inside the room. At night it was very calm, though I am not sure if it is always like that because in normal circunstances there's more movement in the streets. There was a fan and a window, a blanket and lockers. The owner is very kind, has an adorable dog that she adopted from the street and at least three cute cats. It is also animal friendly. The place has a family vibe and is ideal for people staying with children. I saw they had toys and board games. For nomads who want a place to sit with their laptops and work it is also good because the living room table is very big. I would also advise for people who want longer stays in a clean peaceful environment. It is very central, 5min from the beach with lots of restaurants and one Intermarche around. Safety wise, they have codes in the gate, door and room door so I would say it is pretty safe. For solo travellers who want to party and meet people maybe it is not ideal, though I am not sure how its like in normal circunstances, but it is probably more full.
