Casa das Cortinhas

I love Portugal and visit at least once a year, and I always make time to stay in Cortinhas. It's the perfect peaceful getaway. Beautiful house in nice grounds wih a large and peaceful pool area. It's a B&B, not a hotel, so don't expect hotel services. Insead, there is a very helpful and efecient housekeeper who keeps the rooms pristine and serves a very nice continental breakfast. The house is walking distance from the charming town of Arcos de Valdevez, where there are numrous resaurants for the evening meal. Romanzza is particularly recommended, for exquisite Italian food. If you're in the north of Portugal, you should visit Arcos and Cortinhas.
