Alojamento Cesarini

I came upon this place by chance. I was visiting people in Montijo and the place I was going to stay did not work out. The main hotel was full but I was directed to the Alojamente Cesarini. What a find ! Very central, clean with a very modern renovation. It has a common room with cable TV and a kitchen with all amenities. Two bathrooms on each floor. There are 10 rooms. A single costs 25 euro per night. A double 35, and the larger room 45 euros. There is no lift, which was not a problem for me. Montijo is a small quiet town with great restaurants, be it Casa do Pescador, A Banda or Havanesa. A meal should never be a problem. Those three restaurants are only 5 minutes walk from Alojamento Cesarini. The bus station is about a minute longer away. From there one can get a number 431 to Oriente in Lisbon or a 415 to the ferry terminal which is about 7 minutes away. The ferry will take you to Cais do Sodre in 20+ minutes. Therefore I believe that the Alojamento Cesarini is not isolated, one just needs 40-45 minutes to Lisbon, it is important to take note of the bus and ferry times. Take a walk out of the Cesarini at 9pm, one will note it is a quiet town but when one gets back from a hectic tour of Lisbon, it is great to get back to the peace and quiet of the Alojamento Cesarini. The coffee shop in the square which is two minutes away shuts at midnight. As does Cafe Republica nearby. The Taj Mahal cocktail lounge is just a minute away. All in all Cesarini is a perfect location and a perfect price.
