Everything is clean, and room comfortable , dont expect  5 stars for the price of 2 stars and you will not be disappointed.
very nice little breakfast buffet with mainly local products which s always nice.
just notice  the sea view is up the restaurant terrasse, so not super quiet until late night.

We saw many different dolnphins, pilot whales, plus a female Sperm whale with a baby whale! Awesome trip!! We travelled in a small Zodiac so getting closer was safer for the animals and us. We will be doing this trip again on the other islands as well

We stayed in the Casa do Flores, the accomodation more up the hill with a beautiful view over the sea. We enjoyed the room and the possibility to sit outside. Espaco Thalasso is next door and organises great whale watching trip. But also excursions to several parts of the island.

We had a great stay here. The location is fab - right on the sea and a short walk from natural swimming pools. The restaurant was good and although we did have to wait a while for our meals that wasn’t a problem as sitting outside and relaxing with a drink was very pleasant. The whale watching trip was amazing and something we will never forget. I particularly liked the focus on conservation and ethical values.

That she blows!!

What a view!

We booked two nights at the hotel, the rooms are very nicely decorated and clean, however it was boiling hot and there is no air conditioning nor fans in the rooms, which (for the price of the night) wouldn't be a luxury. 
The breakfast was fairly good but not amazing and the restaurant's food was more than regular: we ate there for lunch with our family (they were staying elsewhere), we had to wait 40mins to get our drinks,two people found some hair in their food, and food was just ok in terms of taste - considering the prices (more expensive than any other place in the area) you'd expect something better than this... A bit disappointed.

However we went with them to a whale watching trip and this was fabulous! Highly recommend booking with them!

Amazing Whale Watching trip / Regular hotel/restaurant service

The whale watching trips are absolutely fantastic and the talk beforehand is quite inspiring.
The restaurant was pretty good - had an excellent lunch here with lots of choice.
There are lots if staff about, and the reception desk is fine as staff come if the bell is rung.
Double room - was minuscule and claustrophobic, and as stated by other reviewers was very warm with a window that only opens partially. We brought a mini fan with us, but fans really must be provided for guests. Sea facing rooms are directly onto street and above restaurant- luckily not much noise on night we were there. I could not have stayed in this room more than one night.

Mixed bag

Some rooms are in a separate house above the main village, about 10 minutes walk from the hotel. The views are better and the Shearwaters fly very close at night on their way to/from their nests which is a fantastic sight/sound.
The rooms are pretty basic but functional.

Staying in Lajes, Pico

It's a mess. First you just have to make a credit card deposited of 30% but they just let you book a room when you also make a 75 Euro payment for a whale watching trip!
The reservation is just possible to do online but it was canceled after three phonecalls. 
75 Euros for a boat trip is much more than regularly on the Islands.
