I have lived in Portugal for a year and it has nothing like a typical Portuguese boarding house. Two damp, wet bathrooms for 5 dirty rooms with very poor quality liters. A horrible smell all over the apartment, on the fourth floor without an elevator overlooking one of the most festive/noisy squares in Lisbon without any acoustic or thermal reduction of the windows obviously. All for a far too expensive price!!

However, the staff waited outside the door for 20 minutes despite announcing our arrival time.The room is not very convenient, soundproofed (space above the door is 2-3 cm), the cleanliness of the kitchen and bathrooms is very limited.

The quality of accommodation is desirable

My boyfriend and I were staying here for a Feb. city break and it was the perfect location with great views of the city.
Only thing I’d note on is it was quite cold in the room - it seemed that the heating wasn’t working. It was a little bit dirty in some places, and the room wasn’t very secure (quite easily unlocked without a key). Despite this, it’s a great place for a budget city break, there’s a well equipped kitchen too (we managed to gut and cook fresh fish!) and staff were equally pleasant and helpful. Overall, we were happy with our stay.

Great location and pleasant staff

A simple place to stay in an apartment that the owners also live in. They were very friendly but after initial meeting we didn't have anything to do with them. My partner and I spent 2 nights and just wanted a crash pad, it was clean and basic and all that we needed, we had use of their very small kitchen also should we have wanted it.  It is super close to a metro and on the top floor of the large apartment building, there is a lot of stairs that was no issue for us, once inside it wasn't very clear for us where to go but just head up and up and up and you'll find it! It's one of the cheapest places you will find in the city and we had no complaints.

Great location, clean rooms, friendly and available staff. The common bathrooms are always clean, there are towels and phones, and there is also the possibility of using the kitchen space. It is close to the metro, so very convenient to visit the city. The boy who welcomed us, Fabio, very available and affectionate. Recommended

I stayed in this boarding house for the Halloween weekend. Considering the price the room was fine, no claims on the furnishings (and on the stairs), it's clear; the location is fantastic, close to the Cais do Sodre stop but also two steps from the center. Very good reception, maximum availability.

It's okay.

I just got back from Lisbon and stayed in this boarding house. The rooms are furnished very simply but the location is really perfect! You can walk to all the neighbourhoods of Lisbon and it is right in front of the Cais do Sodré metro station.

Kindness and Simplicity

The hostel is well placed as it is right next to the Cais do Sodré train station. But the four floors to go up without an elevator are not convenient. The room is summarised: a little old furniture, broken lamps, but it's not without charm. The only real problem: the noise from outside. You have to have a heavy sleep or you have to plan for quiet balls.

Good price, but a bit of a short room.

Located in an excellent location, this structure enjoys a magnificent view over the river Tejo. The owner is very kind and overall the cleanliness is excellent. Highly recommended for young couples and groups of friends, but not for families because, being located in a very central position, it suffers a little from the noise of traffic.

I'm not talking about a five-star hotel, and considering the price, I'd say it's pretty interesting. You're in the middle of the city and you can have a great view of the sea.
